If it's anything like ME2 we're in for a treat that's for sure! I'm doing my 2nd go around with my adept now, going all red and getting ready for my import!

I hope there are no tedious tasks like scanning and probing planets.
Pure story and action is what I am looking forward to in this final installment.

On a related note, DA2 comes out in March!
I was one of the crazies that kinda liked planet scanning! Although, I have to say, that it's nice to not HAVE to do it on your second play arounds.
I have such a huge wishlist but ME3... I'm afraid to overthink it because I don't want to be dissapointed. Let's just hope it's a unique and special experience, as were the previous iterations.
Not quite sure I'm as excited for DA2 though... I liked that the first DA catered to a different gamer in me and it seems they are pushing DA down the same road as Mass Effect. That's not to say I won't buy it, because I will, how could I not! I'll reserve judgement until play day though As always.

I liked it until it became very tedious. AFter that, I just started doing quick scans to hit the large stock piles and could deplete a planet in less than a minute. But, it still is tedious. I am now playing my second import character from ME second time through. I've always survived the mission - I just bring myself not to.
I have a feeling though, that the trailer gives us an idea what's going to happen. If you survive, then you can import Shepard. If you don't survive, you can still import your save data, but you will be the guy (or girl, of course) in the trailer and face the consequences of Shepard's actions in ME2. Or, if decide not to import at all, you can create a new game with a new Shepard with the default story.
I just finished DA:O, computer crashed back in April 2010 while in the middle of playing it and even though I got it fixed within a few weeks I wasn't able to get back into it until earlier this month. I've just now bought ME2 and am at the point of finishing up my last 2 loyalty missions. The problem with the scanning, for me at least, is that I have a touch of OCD that leaks into my gaming and it is very very hard for me not to want to clear out an entire system before I move on. I realized fairly quickly, however, that spending 90% of my playtime mining and 10% on missions was a bit much and forced myself to just hit the planets for bonus missions only. Luckily I haven't run out of minerals yet and may have done all the mining I needed to.
I'm going to hold off on viewing the trailer until I finish 2 incase of spoilers, but yeah, hopefully they downplay the scanning stuff in 3.
Mass Effect 2 is on there, as well as a bunch of others such as Brink and Arkham City. They provide the trailers for a lot of them too, so it helps keep you informed on the new games coming out.

My Sheperd is too busy keeping up his mining business to be bothered progressing the story and getting help.

I never really had much of a problem with the mining. I got away with doing very little of it, and getting all of the ship upgrades that I needed.
Metacritic did a list of all the multiplatform / and all of the exclusive titles coming out. http://features.metacritic.com/features/2011/video-game-preview-part-1/
