BTw, what's the word on the client download? Anyone wanna link it for me? Or, maybe they won't have it released until beta opens?
Once you get the invite you will click on it and you will be taken to a page where you have to accept the Terms as well as a button with the launcher download.
At least that's how it worked for me the last few times.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
That's so far away... reminds me of sitting and waiting for Aion all over again. is Beta 5 open or will I have to preorder?
VIP keys available here : http://www.zam.com/giveaways/rift.html, don't know how long they'll last but if you get one now you can get in to next weeks beta
You are my hero! Thank you, thank you!!
I was pleasantly surprised when I went from Apprentice to full 5 star Elite in under 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised again when I went from Elite to just barely Hardcore in 2 weeks. Apprentice, here I come!
I played the first 3 betas, but I pretty much new after the first one that it wasn't my thing.
I dunno if its me personally being done with mmo's, or the fact that I kept saying to myself "man this game is just the same fucking thing i've already played for 7 years".
Anyways glad you guys liked it, and hopefully others can try this out before they buy it.
While I can somewhat understand what you people are talking about. Ya gotta try not to lose your heads here. It's just a game. Nothing more and nothing less. While Rift is at this point a highly polished game and is quite fun (I've played in the last 3 betas) it's not the MMO to end all MMO's.
Point is I've seen this type of reaction with AoC, Warhammer, and Aion. Just chill and stop the hype until Rift has been out for at least six months. Then come back and see if you still rave about it. Perhaps I'm just a bit cynical, who knows.
Oh, and by the way I do enjoy this game and have pre-ordered, so i'm not a hater.
I'm sure most of the gamer's here understand that. I'm sure you understand the amount of polish thus far. It's rather shocking for any mmo. I'm not getting too excited but it does give some glimmer that games can be make and maintained without years of "polishing."

Why cant i be excited about it now?
I love this game right now, is that so wrong? 6 months down the road i might hate it an guess what that is just fine.
Im gonna enjoy my time liking the game right now an hopefuly down that road i will enjoy it just as much, If not well whatever thats life

That's usually how it works. Hopefully that wont be the case with Rift.

Sure. I dig what you're saying, but just because an MMO is polished at release (as MMO's or any game for that matter should be) it really should not warrant this enormously high hype. But once again I say this probably because of my pessimism for recent releases.

You sir are spot on. However, this hype is nothing compared to GW2. Recent releases can certainly stain the mind with thoughts of failure.

Any of you guys that pre-ordered from the Trion site receive your Beta5 invite emails yet?

Doesnt make much sense to me but thats how they are doing it.

No invite as of yet.
I believe they are going to announce it on the official forums when it happens.
I keep hitting refresh anyway
Yea....that's how they do it. No one should have received one yet. Usually get it the day or night before. But I found what I'm going to be busy doing this weekend since it wont be Rift. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/304283/Earthrise-beta-keys.html
Did you click on the torrent download off the beta page yet?
The client is hardly seeded... you might get it downloaded by tuesday.
unless im missing a normal download link on the page its pure fail.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP

Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Ironic thread... I enjoyed Rift more as i played. After the beta I think it's continued to intrigue, maybe even more so.
I share sentiments with some of the comments here.
I'm looking forward to playing Rift, but it certainly didn't ruin the other games for me. I was bored with them long ago.
BFBC2 is a blast to play in the meantime.
Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.
This is irony.. I was just thinking this same damn thing.
Log back into EvE and play around with the character customizations.. and if you have a good SP char then maybe participate in incursions..
Thats what im doin till Rift comes out lol
Currently Playing:
Rift + Starcraft II + Gears Of War 3 Beta
I played the first 3 betas, but I pretty much new after the first one that it wasn't my thing.

Yea im just gonna drink a crap load of Jack Daniels this weekend an teleport to Tuesday.
It's funny that this has been mentioned because I was a longtime fan and player of Warhammer which most of you know
utilizes the same engine. Anytime I would login that game, the UI wasn't nearly as responsive as rifts, I can't tell you how many
times I had the whole, "your target is out of range" problem even though i'm still using up power. It's just astonishing that this
game is already more polished than two year old Warhammer.
I think this game will do great, it may have the old style MMO but it works and it's still fun if put towards something dynamic(Rifts).

Just got my email for the client DL for Tuesday's beta event.
