OMG!... Feel bad for me people!
On my way toward upstate new York with my band I opened my alienware mx11 only to find out the Gpu was fried...
Hardly 1 day before the beta event and I won't get my laptop back until 7-10 days after I mail it... I'm gonna miss the beta!!
*cries* this is officially what hell is like people rift servers open and no PC to take advantage of the awesomeness...

Meh, I've known for a long time that this particular poster plays in a band and owns that laptop. I don't know the guy personally, he loves his band and his laptop, that's about all I know about him. Maybe you should reevaluate why you're posting?

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.
Just rip the GPU from his lap if its compatible ... no need to result to murder just yet.

You shouldn't have bought all that Razer gear. It was too awesome for your laptop to handle it.
*edit* And don't force the #2 - you can vagal down and pass out. Just let it out when it wants to come out.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
After seeing the shipping cost (15 bucks an item) I went with 8-10 day free shipping lol. So the stuff isn't here yet. Actually if I get this laptop shipped off fast enough I'll get it back just as my Razer gear gets here. Anyway I bought that stuff for my desktop PC mostly problem is I won be home until late Friday so I'll still miss the beta. Oh well I read that beta 6 is only like a week or two after 5 so it won't be too bad.Playing: Rift, LotRO

So are they adding anything to this beta that they haven't put in other betas? In other words, what is the OP going to be missing out on in beta 5 (except the fun of playing RIFT, of course)?
Edit: just found the notes on beta 5. More players in the beta seems to be the biggest change. Better grouping?
Well...most notably they are adding public grouping, kinda how it works in WAR if I get it correctly.
Yeah, had the same problem, my graphics card went out on my computer right before the first beta, it took like a month to get the warranty people to do something. i had bought it at circuit city, so I had no middle man, but ended up being a pretty good deal. The computer was 2 years old, and none of their vendors would service a gaming computer so they bought me a new gaming computer. It kills me that companies opperate that way, the card on the old computer could be bought for like $150-200, but they bought a whole new computer, and I never had to send the old one back, or even verify that it was broken.
So I got a spare sitting around, just needed a video card too, so was worth the wait...But it REALLY sucked at the time, I was like what the hell, like 2 days before the beta!
So saaaad... no, really... empathy and stuff...

i dont think that was his purpose because alienware m11x is mad cheap compared to m15x and m17x, etc... (US $800 for m11x is way better investment than US $1200 for a 13" mac)

I believe it was a short more than anything. My Mx11 is strictly for on the road use so I haven't used it that much. It may have banged around in the back of the van. The laptop is perfect for on the road gaming and it's size is just above the average netbook size so I can take it anywhere. I only paid like 899 for it and it ran Rift on medium/high settings really nice.Playing: Rift, LotRO

cool i ordered it this this weekend for college and traveling (and gaming a bit when travel) (waiting for shipping now) about same price... tho ill be able to play rift beta 5 on my old gamer rig... now, from ur bad experience, ill make sure ill keep mine as a princess lol,

The laptop has this graphics card switching feature that let's you switch from a generic card that's good for basic Internet stuff and then with a press of the button you could switch to a Nvidia setting that plays games nicely for it's size and price. Just do yourself a favor when your not gaming keep that bitch on the generic graphics setting. You get more battery life and it doesn't run hot.Playing: Rift, LotRO

yeah good to know that, ty... some ppl say taht the only "downside" is ill need an external rom/burner but its not actually a downside i think it will work better for me that way
