    Wha..?

It feels nothing like CoH, refined or otherwise. I've played CoH on and off since the EU launch (moved to a US account a year ago, seriously guys, merge the server lists, EU is dead) clocking up about 5 years in total. I played CO for 6 months after launch (and have tried to go back a couple of times since).

CoH and DCUO are polar opposites; apart from the obvious similarities - they both feature superheros in a city - they play completely differently. They are are both terrific games, despite CoH's aging engine and DCUO's snubbing stanadrd MMO 'stuff'.

I'd be tempted to think the perfect superher MMO would have aspects of both, except that CO sits smack between them - it's an 'action' game like DCUO, but retains far more CoH-style MMO-ness; it ought to be combining the best of both - CO really ought to feel like 'a more refined / updated CoH'...unfortunately - for me at least - it feels flat and hollow, it's not as good as either of the extremes.

DCUO offers great interaction with iconic characters and action based arcade style gameplay.

COH offers a traditional mmorpg standard.

The thing that dcuo offers more than coh at the moment is a full gaming experience I can hop on a pvp server or choose to pvp on a pve server.  COH is mainly a PvE game.

CO can get flushed in the toilet I don't trust cryptic they messed coh up as much as they could when they were in some control and things only got better when NC Paragon studios fully took it over. And I agree with the above posted the eu servers were dead long long ago theres no account system merge the eu servers are hosted in the US now but cannot access any of the other US servers.  They should just integrate the lot and bulk up the US servers.

Having formerly played CoH, I've also recently jumped on the DCUO bandwagon. That said, I am suddenly finding that end game content is so hard that I'm not having as much fun as during the ride to level 30. I actually started a thread on it in the DCUO forums if you care to check it out. DCUO is a great game, but I'm going to let my 30 days expire and wait to resub when the next patch is applied. Hoping for a nerf or two.

CoH is superior in terms of social aspects & grouping. The thing I hate about CoH though is the damn rooting of your character when using an ability/power. Even CO lets you "run & gun". Here's hoping that the devs are hard at work on CoH 2!!!

I agree with the above posters that CoH and DC have very few in common, except from being both superhero MMOs.

I like the action/gameplay of DC alot, but in terms of RPG mechanics and char building CoH is far superior. I leveled a few different toons in DC and ultimately they all play almost the same, while in CoH you have so many different playstyles from one build to another (sometime even in the same AT). Just my subjective feeling though.

But for me DC is much more a MMOAG (MMO Action Game) while CoX is a true MMORPG. And there is definitely a place for both.

I'm a little biased because I've played CoH since shortly after it's release.  CoH has nearly 7 years worth of updates (for better or worse) and is polished amazingly well.  DCUO is a completely seperate game, which has a more action-y console feel.  Champions was a lot of fun during the beta testing phase...and then they did the "release day patch" which felt very "bait and switch" to me.

I'm not a fan of the action feel, but some are.  If you want that, give DCUO a shot.  For me, CoH is the way to go.  I just wish it were possible for them to take a similar character customization approach that Champions Online took and apply it to CoH.  It does need a bit of an overhaul.  7 years ago, the character creation was amazing and new.  Now it's pretty dated.

For the time being, NCSoft will continue to get my monthly subscription.  I'm unimpressed with DCUO.
