Howdy again all,
I've been getting a lot of questions and messages on here from people wondering what exactly the "Tribal System" is like, or even what it is. Also getting plenty questions on how "vaults/banks" work. So, again doing a write-up to try to answer everyone's questions in bulk.
Tribes are just another name for "Guild" pretty much, though different. A one-man solo person, can make a Tribe and place a Tribal Totem. A "Circle area" around that totem is the Tribe's "area of claim". That person can then recruit other people. As the Tribe grows (seems to be at the 5/10/20/? levels) the "area" of the circle around the totem grows. I can't tell you by how much, I haven't paid close enough attention, but it is by a pretty considerable amount.
Everything inside a Tribe's area of claim is "Their Property." The trees, the grass, the rocks, the rivers, the piles of junk, the buildings they build, the structures, all of it "belongs" to the tribe. The Tribal Leader can make settings for different ranks to decide who can do what within the Tribe, but I'll cover that later. For now though, trying explain that even though it's the "Tribe's" property, anyone can gather their resources. However, if someone does come by and "gather" on their claimed lands, they will be "flagged" as encroaching and is free to be killed by that tribe, without any penalty to their standings (Good/Neutral/Bad I've covered in other posts, will cover again, later). For now, buildings and structures placed, as well as terraforming, can only be built or destroyed by the Tribe whose land it is. This prevents "enemies" from coming over and screwing up your design.
Rankings: The Tribal leader can set up to 100 different ranks (including his own "Leader Rank") to be named however he likes. He can also set different "powers" that person has within the tribe. An example of how I plan on doing my tribal ranks can be found here.
All the ranks can be modified to determine who can gather what materials, who has access to "all" containers (later), who can terraform, who can "build" structures, who can adjust the tax rates as well as the currency system, who can set "quests" up on the tribal totem (quests are purely playermade, we haven't seen this system yet, will explain more when I find out, heard it's of the "kill target" and gather resources for money type quests), determines who recruit new members, make new ranks, or adjust people's ranks. There's a few more, but I can't think of them right now. There's a lot to what a Tribal Leader can modify.
At the creation of a Tribe, the "Leader" must set the "alignment" of the tribe. This is a "Good/Neutral/Evil" setting. A Good and Neutral Tribe will have "safety" within their borders, in which they cannot be attacked on their Tribal Lands. An Evil Tribe will not get this protection, they are killable on their lands. Now, I'm unsure of this next part, but bear with me, and if I get it wrong, I will do my best to clarify. There is not only a 'Tribal Alignment," but also a "Personal Alignment." A Good Tribe can only recruit "Good or Neutral members." An Evil only evil or neutral members. Neutral, I believe, can recruit either. However, an Evil member will not get the "Totem Protection" of not being killed, even on their "neutral tribe's" lands. Evil can be killed anywhere.
Now, you must also try to maintain your alignment. If Good, you must do Good things to stay, well, good. Evil, same deal, you gotta act Evil. Neutral must do a bit of both, not one of the "extremes" of either, do maintain Neutral. Examples for Good is helping someone who has died, healing others (healing not yet in game, but is in-coming), defending your tribe lands from "Evil" players. Examples of Evil are more straightforward, murder, stealing, and cannibalism.
Next, once a Tribe gets so big, I think it's 10 members, it becomes a Town. At Town status, they get more stuff they can do. One of these things is to set-up Laws. Laws, just as in real life, can be broken. With consequences. The Laws of what is "illegal", what is "frowned upon", and what is "good to go," are set by the Tribal Leader, as well as the consequences. We haven't seen the 'Law' system yet, but I am looking forward to it.
As Tribes get bigger, they will also get a form of "currency." All Economics is player controlled, and player made. As in, the bigger the "Town" is, the more "Vendors," shops, crafting, gathering, building, will affect the amount of "Money" the town generates, and is able to be distributed. (Basically speaking, the town generates revenue, and the Tribal Leader/Mayor pays his workers.) That money however, is only usuable in that area though. There will be different "money types" in other area, where this Tribe's money is not usable at. Is pretty complex, and again not a system we've seen yet, but I've been told it works.
Well, think that's all I can really explain up to this point on Tribes. So, now for Storage.
Storage works like so: You make a "bin" from Basketry. When you've made that Bin, it shows up on the ground at your feet. This bin can hold up to 50 "stacks" of items (some stuff stacks, others do not). That bin you can then either pick up and put on your back as a backpack, or you can right click it and "set permissions." Setting permissions allows you to set up your Bin as private, friends, tribe, or public. This means you can set up every bin you make (can make as many as you want), for as much storage as you want, and personalize bins to allow who you want access to it. Unlimited Storage, in other words.
At the moment, you can make and personalize bins where ever you want. On your tribal lands, or out in the middle of no where near a tree you like. Doesn't matter. I'm not sure if this will change, but have not heard word that it will. So feel free to have as much storage as you want, where ever you want it. Bins cannot be destroyed, and can only be picked up by the person who placed it, or who has permission to access it. You cannot place bins on Tribal Areas that are not your own.
Finally, another Tribal Leader's settings allows him to set up "Allow Access to all Bins." This means, on Tribal Lands, even if you have set your bin to private, your Tribal Leader (or someone else he has set this setting for), can still access your bins. So, if you ever have anything come up "missing," well, you might want to find a new Tribe. Cuz well, your Leaders are stealing from you.
Well all, I've typed enough for now I think (wall of text comes into mind right about now). So I'm gonna leave you with that. I hope these posts have been helpful to others, and I've answered some more of your questions. Again, I'm just a player, and make mistakes. If I find out anything I've thrown up here has been wrong, I will let you all know.

Ty again for the info
i'm eager to play this game... cant wait to get my pc working again.
I'm just curious how deep the buildings feature is developed, can i actually build a house ? with hood , stairs, rooms and such ?
can Tribes build villages already ? if not... when it'll be possible ?
Tribes can build villages already.
For now there are mostly predefined buildings tents, huts, "public" buildings like chiefs tent or loggers hut.
Some components are in game too like walls, roofs and floors so probably soon you'll be able to design your own buildings.
do tentes and huts has internal graphics ? i mean.. .can you really enter into yoru tent, lay down, store thing in a chest or something...
or its only a graphical feature, with no real meaning yet ?
Tents, yes. Huts, not yet.
It should be in for launch or shortly after, some furniture shuld be added shortly after launch too.
Buildings as well as fires will affect your comfort and recovery rate, also when you log out in your house, you'll log in fully refreshed.
So, lets say I cruise on up to coord x,y and plop down my bin and set it for private and walk off. Then someone comes along and drops a totem whos radius falls on my bin, thus including my locked in place bin on their tribal land, what happens to my bin?
Is spliting stacks in game yet? Scrooloose and I couldnt figure it out last night.
No, no split stack yet, though been waiting, patiently, for it for a while now.
As to respond, dunno. I'm expecting that if the bin is in their tribal zone, and he sets it up, he'll be able to pick it up and then remove it.
Once it's in his tribal zone, it's his property.

I have no idea what would happen with the bin I'll try to test it after todays wipe.
You can't divide stacks yet I hope it'll be in before launch maybe even today.
i can see a lot of exploit there. It should put like a seven day timer that locks the bin. The owner can only move it. After the timer elapses then the bin ownership converts to the totem owner.
I dont like the idea of currency in the game. I think the current barter system we have is great and novel, gold pieces is going to make it generic. They should pick an item that is needed routinely that is easy to carry and make it rare, like nails or screws, for the in game money.
Instead of a timer on the bin, cuz there will be a varitable butt ton of bins, would rather see a timer on Totems. That can only "create" a Tribe once every 24 or 48 hours after "disbanding" your old one. My two cents.
Not to confuse, you will get 1 shot to recreate in the 24/48 hour time period after disbanding. More though you'll have to wait the timer.

Won't be any currency in the game at the start. But as people come together and build "towns," um, sorry to say, they make a currency system in order to pay workers, buy necessities, and pay for services. It's not only how the game wants to run, it's how the real world does too. Screws and nails, which can be an idea of currency, you can't set a tax rate for for outsiders, and hard to pay a player vendor "screws." And well, crafters want to craft for people right? Not just themselves. Will a crafter take a bunch of nails for a full set of a type of Bone Armor? I think not bud.
