Being forced to roll it out before it is ready I can understand. But that dosen't mean Im going to be their chump. $50 bucks for a half broke ass laggy game, no freak'in way. That's what good quality products ask for. Now $20 bucks is a different story. I be willing to make a "donation" to the cause for the promise of a bright future, $20 is not to steep. They could probably bring in more money at $20 price point than $50. People are going to read all the ugly on this site about this game and then go "$50 bucks, no way"!
totally agreed. I believe they went with full price becuase they couldnt admit the fact to the gamers that game is beyond unfinished because theyve been dronning on boards how complete and fun this game is. So for them to create a donation fee they would need to oficially say "yes game is not finished, we did this and that wrong but we still havent lost our goal and asking you to help us turn it into best sandbox MMORPG out there".
Madace this will be a never ending argument. I respect your views. The problem is we share different views.
You want us to me more understanding and accepting, and consider the people behind the scenes. You think we should keep our anger of our poor purchase to ourselves and allow others to suffer the same fate.
I do not want to see anyone fail, but at the same time I want to get my "money's worth" from the product. I feel like informing others at times is my way of lending a helping hand and informing them of a product that I feel is not up to par.
Do I think they wanted to release it in this condition. No I am sure they are being forced to do so. Would I love to see them grow and continue to expand the game ABSOLUTLEY.
I frankly couldn't care less about your understanding and your acceptance. I'm not so naive as to expect these qualities in people.
I'm saying that your opinion of a game is not the same as someone else's opinion of a game. What you consider unacceptable might be deemed acceptable by someone else. Of course, that'd might have been their opinion, if they hadn't bought into some hysterical hyperbole which made them ignore a game they might have enjoyed.
I'm also saying that right now you should not yet judge the game. This is not wise to do in the case of an mmo.
Suspend your judgment until you've had a chance to play the finished product. Also, do not act as if your opinion is the epitome of truth.

Second, no im not giving them my money yet, im willing to support them when they fix the fps and lag issues, and why would my parents give them money they dont play games, if your trying to hint im a little kid then nice try im 27 with my own IT company so dont try to troll that way, when it comes to punctuation might it be that english is not my first language ^ ^.
I think you might be confused as to what a troll actually is. It's not because I happen to disagree with you that I am one.
The fact that you said I am a troll while this is most certainly not the case and there was no indication that I am does not bode well for your ability to form correct opinions. Let's analyze what you said there, shall we?
" i was in beta i know the state the game was in, i know the state the game is in now and have read the patch notes"
I too was in beta, I too knew the state of the game and I too read the patch notes. My opinion differs from you.
This is why you should not present your opinion as if it were the only correct one. Now I do wonder how you know what state the game IS in, as no one is really playing it. If I'm not mistaken the servers are down. Do you have some kind of special access to the game no one else has?
"i know what the fps issue is and i know its probably going to take a engine rewrite or at least a client rewrite to fix it"
How do you know this? Have you written any good game engines lately?
"so how is that spreading lies"
Presenting your opinion as fact is lying.
"Second, no im not giving them my money yet"
Through which you admit that you have no access to the current version of the game.
"when it comes to punctuation might it be that english is not my first language"
Nor is it mine. This has long seized being a valid excuse in my opinion. Especially since you're 27 years old and operate a company in Canada.
My apologies for thinking you are a little kid. I was mistaken. I jumped to a conclusion as I had no indication to contradict the conclusion.

Which is commercial suicide. So it's fair to say they had no choice.
Not only that, the only way to live up to people's expectations is to finish the game, for which they need money.
If you want to stop being disappointed you should buy their game.

By making it an oficiall release in hopes of getting customers with no or little knowledge of the game they made even a bigger blunder, because now these players are complaining on forums about getting their money back. ANd within a month only people will be left are diehard supporters, from then on its a big gamble on whether the game will be enticing enough for those who waited to buy the game.
I think if they were truthful about it they couldve recieved more support.
Anyway. Here is the deal folks. The game COULD be fun if I could play the damn thing.
I am dead serious when I say i get 90-12 FPS stutter the whole time.
I have tried everything, reinstall, driver updates, defrag the works.
I work in IT in the real life, and to be honest the performance issues are embarrassing.
I get between 50 and 100 FPS on EVERY game I have ever played on this system, but not earthrise, it runs like absolute crap.
And mention that on the forums, and you will get mauled by rabid fan boys who rant about how it is beta and I should have known better. They wont HELP you with your problem, just call you a cry baby.
They also wont admit that essentially you paid to beta test.
They say performance improvements are coming out, but then again, they promised a lot of fixes before launch.
Frankly the game is missing some basic features.
A way to find groups or a friends list? No where to be found.
The chat system cant even properly send tells.
The grind is horrible, most skills cost 900+ to 40k BP and you get 3-7 BP from mobs, AND quest rewards.
You will get horribly ganked, but guess what, until you get off the newb island, you have no bank, so prepare to lose all your stuff constantly. (And I have been playing for 8+ hours and am still ont he newb island.)
People can take my opinions with a grain of salt, i just want to give a heads up to people who are interested in the game that with the current problems its best to wait until march when they fix the graphics engine, if they dont believe my so called "Facts" they are free to check the official boards, the multitude of unhappy players complaining of lag and fps issues should speak for itself, unfortunately the truth hurts in this case, as to me writing game engines, no i have not written any, but I do work in IT and spent two weeks tracking down what the cause of the fps drop was, and whats happening is simple, the game engine or the
client is pulling the textures straight from your systems hard drive, so every time your moving and you have to load some textures you get a couple of split seconds of lag while the engine acesses your drive to precache the textures, for some strange reason its not preloading them into your cards memory, its pretty easy to notice if you pay some attention to it, the split second you lag you can hear your drive spin up pretty hard to burst the textures to the engine, raid doesnt eliminate this problem since i tested this with some of the beta testers, only way to fix it is use a SSD drive for the game install, but hey what do i know right im not a dev.
They already know how to fix it, it involves a engine rewrite, hence why thats the first thing in their roadmap, but a engine rewrite takes a while its not simple, i think they can do it in a month hopefully.
other than lag, which you can still play through, all the complaints have either been resolved or are simply a complaint about play-style. . . there aren't tons of 'quests' yet and there is open PVP - if you want to quest in a vacuum, then perhaps this game is not for you - it has never been marketed as anything but what it is.

I got a consistent 50 fps if I remember correctly. Perhaps a 30 at the lowest. Quite playable.

No his analysis is specifically what the Devs have said. They said, Oops, textures arent loading into cache, we are gonna fix that. The question is.. when...?
Yes thats actually what my testing was, pretty simple huh, make sure the house is quiet, make sure the drive is not being too active go into a area with high textures whatch the screen stutter and the drive spin up hard while loading textures, did the same procedure with raid, and got a couple of testers to do it with a ssd drive, guess what people with ssd drives have no stutering why because ssd drives are essentially ram drives, and so get insane fast acess speed enough to be able to get textures and
keep up with the gpu drawing the graphics on the screen...........funny its such a simple test often times the simplest way to test gets you the best results kiss principle at work...........and now the devs have admited that is the fps issue, like i said they knew it they just need the time to fix it.
I also tested max settings in the mountains where there is only one rock texture, i was getting upwards of 100 fps, so when they do fix the texture issue the engine is not that taxing and runs insanely smooth.

turning off shadows worked wonders for me... i've never run an MMO with shadows anyway...
