Can a non-basher please enlighten a newcomer

Ok, went against my better judgement and bought the game...and I am willing to ignore for now that the game is unplayable due to lag and such as it is launch week. I am fine giving an indie dev time to get stability right.

However, I have come in kind of blind, and I know this is a sandbox, but I am having a really hard time managing to find any help / descriptions / faqs to know what to try and do at the start. I am off the newbie island and now vaguely aware there are two factions, but no idea where to find them, how they work, what I should do, or where I should go. I don;t wantt handholding or a linear experience, but I would kind of like some hints

Is there are any good sources of vet information? There seems to be a complete lack of informative posts or articles about this game. I really want it to be enjoyable, I have been yearning for a new sandbox...but even a sandbox needs some kind of extended information about how to approach things.

So can any constructive vets help with any info?

Not a vet.. just started today myself.. the 2 factions are chosen on the road with the people in the bubbles.  One is on faction and says go orange, the other says go blue.. follow the road a little further and BAM you have orange lines to follow or blue ones.. TBH I had to leave once I found the people.  I'll give it another go tomm.

Don't bother with the factions at this point actually.

Just go out and grind as much missions as possible to get BattlePoints, ressources/materials from mobs and money for now.

These are the most important things to get done at this point. You'll need BattlePoints and money to buy skills and you'll need tons of ressources to craft something.

Factions will get interesting later on, when they actually patch in the territorial warfare, faction-rewards and technologies for crafting the advanced stuff.

Really. Just grind as much as you possibly can, as this is basically all this game is currently about.

Did you try the Earthrise official forum?  If you don't see your question, ask.  People tend to answer quickly, and they're friendly.  There's a wiki with some fairly detailed faction info as well.

I agree. You should try the official forums, here most of the people will do nothing but bash ER. The game's community however is really friendly and helpful, unlike many other MMOs, so you will get your questions answered in no time.

To the OP, on Enterra Sal Vitas (Conti) is the largest city in the SW of the map. The Noir are to the NE of the map I believe though will really need a Noir to confirm this.

If you want to get to SV from the Northern camp travel West to those big square facilities you'll get to the living quarters then further west the crio facilities. Then strike South and you'll get to Conti territory eventualy, make sure you pass the rez points along the way as if you're BR 10 you'll die alot to NPCs and Noir scumbag players. The first city is Hope Polis just south of the last square facility, follow the path that goes over the water.

My advice is to grind on a mob for a bit to get your weapon and armour tier to 2 first, find a bank and mail terminals and set up a base of operations and get the free T2 gear ASAP.

Oh and JOIN THE CONTINOMA NOW!!!!!

I checked the official forums but there are no real FAQ or sticky thread type of helpful links or write-ups, unless I am missing something and missed a forum section?

 Press K and scroll to the bottom of the combat section, under armour equipment you can purchase the armour tiers allowing you to wear that tier of armour. There is a section for each weapon type so you can buy the tiers for the weapon you use there ie you use precision rifle then it's under precision rifle equipment.

no it isnt a sandbox, its just missing alot of stuff that makes it look like a sandbox. right now all you do is explore and grind mobs. so enjoy your sandbox experience.

Mako your crusade against Earthrise is rediculous ok? you dont like the game we get it, move on. Theres plenty of games we dont like either and were not constantly driveling all over their forums.
