Easy to get into last Rift Beta event?

I have friends that were in the last Beta event, and they're poking me to get into the next one.  I made my Rift account and applied for a Beta key.

 

Anyone know what the likelyhood is of me getting into the next Beta event that way?  I really have no clue how many keys they're handing out, or if they still are at this point.  I realize that I could get in automatically by pre-ordering, but I'd rather avoid buying until I discover that I like it.  You know, my friends may be on to something, or they may be demented.  I figure it's a 50-50 chance.

    this vip key still has 20 uses left if you want to apply it to your account yourself. But like the previous poster mentioned you should be garanteed entry, it just might not be right from beta start as the invites go out in batches. (unless they have changed it for the OB and flag everyone at the start without the email sendout)

    The event is Open Beta, you dont need a key to get into it.
