Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.

cry some more EA.
If this is basically an alpha or early beta version of it, I r impressed
On a side note look at all the people condeming the leak to piracy, when it was more than likely one of the employees who leaked it (
Yea, cry some more! Like nobody is gonna buy the game now....
Most people who download games are people who just wanna try it out before they buy or can't afford too buy games. So who gives a shit.
Myself never bought games a couple of years back because well, i didnt have anything too buy them with so i downloaded, now tough i do have a regular income and over the last year only i have bought 80 games on steam (tough alot of them are small and cheap games, but you get my point) so i dont understand why they keep whining over piracy.
Its like that X-men Origins movie, got leaked way early on the web (yes it was a crappy unfinished version, but so is this game) and it still made a ton of money on ticket / dvd sales..
Why dont they just leave the pirates alone? they use so much money trying too stop them, and its money they would never get anyways . Even if those people couldnt download it most of them would still NOT buy the game / movie or whatever cause as i said, they cant afford it or some other reason. Most people who download are kids in the age of 14-20 who dont have a job etc.
Ill admit tough, i do pirate movies and TV-shows even if i can afford too buy them, but thats cause i want them digitally on my computers and not the damn dvds. If it wasnt for steam i prolly wouldnt buy games either (besides from online games) I did actually have a decent DvD collection a few years back built up over a good time, then i realised how annoying it is to have all those DvDs that get ruined, have to get up everytime i wanna put in a movie etc.
If they started selling movies on steam i would totally buy them (i know i can buy alot online on I-tunes but that shit sucks and not gonna use it)

I pirate the living crap outa games, and I'm not bloody ashamed to say it, my process is something like this
Download Pirated Game
Play Pirates Game
Does it Suck?
Yes? - Uninstall
No ? - Go Buy the Game
The way I see it, i'm really just trying it so I don't hand a developer 60 bucks for making a crap product.
some guys are suggesting they're intentionally doing this
it does imo seem outrageous that they would publicly say you can find it on torrent sites
I want to own property too
Ever since the iPhone 4 was left at a bar, a lot of high end products information have been 'leak' into the media.
PSPhone anyone?
How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.
EA and Crytek claim it is an "early build", but that is just a poor attempt at damage control on there part.
There is no truth to that statement.
I did some poking around and it turns out the leaked build is actually a fairly recent beta build, and with the game set to release March 22 (iirc), is pretty close to what will ship when the game goes gold. It contains the entire game from start to finish, completely working multiplayer, and the CryEngine 3 Editor as well.
Ouch.
If that happened to me, I'd do the same: Write about it. This leak is great publicity, and if this leaked version shows the greatness of the game, it will probably stop noone who is waiting for the game from buying it. Although if it was me, I'd wish it really had been an unfinished alpha, so there would be a real improvement when the game is finished.
Of course there's alyways people who will pirate the game and not buy it, but they wouldn't have bought it anyway. So again, no real harm done.
And I cannot imagine such a flimsy "please don't pirate our game" could have any effect but to promote the leak even more. So EA / Crytek must think in similar lines.
