So, i recently heard about this game and went into research mode and i can say that from what im reading and what not, the game seems like it would be pretty much bad a$$ , so heres my questions to you guys ..
1. Is it worth it? i mean , its 40 bucks that i really am not in the mood to waste.
2. What are the pros and cons of the game?
The graphics dont bother me, they actually arent that bad, haha; As long as the games intense and real, then im fine :] ....
PS - All mammals have nipples.
Get over it already.

Devs talk to folks and have posted there mistakes and seem to listen so far.

Not a game for me...Im the type of person that needs more handholding. I like sandboxes but if there isnt some kind of guide then I get frustrated and quit. Also I cant get passed the awful (IMO) look of the game.
Im sure there are alot of ppl who will love it doesnt look good to me in the least.

This is true, this game you learn things as you do em, and you make the adventure, theres no themepark where you go from one dungeon to the next.
Its a shame if you played and was struggling, Ascended tribe would help you understand and answer any queries, and i'd probably force tips on you like i do the other poor tribe members :P
Many others and myself have tried to answer as many quests in general and global chat as poss, even though they get repetitve and tbh people should really read the manual, its one of the times where its actually very useful, concise and quick enough to skim over.
The graphics arent amazing, but i dont notice because there are just so many things to be doing, also watching my backs for pvpers to notice.
If you try again, go to secret grove, and ask for ascended, or try Hopi tribe or Nomads, all helpful tribes, and theres many more under tribe recruitment (official forum).
Meh. I made the plunge but immediately regretted it after DLing the game and playing for a bit. Some of the design choices seem sloppy. I got a refund so no harm done (use Paypal btw). I'm sure with a lot of work they can flesh this into a good game eventually, but for now Minecraft SMP will have to satiate my sandbox thirst. The game reeks unfinished, the animations are very poor, and there are lots of things to turn it into a timesink. I failed to make a campfire three times in a row... really?

Money -Wise most MMO's cost around $40 when first released, however most MMO's give 1 months free game time, whereas pre-ordering you get TWO months free play time and a pre-order wep of your choice.
Pre-order wep is good because a) cant be robbed by other players, all other items can! b) double as gathering tools, the blades can be used to harvest creature carcusses, the axes for logging, the spades for terraforming.
Pros
- Seasons, land changes in look, winter has finally gone! no more snow and white everywhere lol, now we have spring, but still rain lol.
- Crafting like ryzom and SWG - need tools to craft, can craft all, but ya gonna need around 20-25 tools (EST) but to make superior quality you need superior tools and superior materials, so it all depends on how much real life you want.
- Learn as you play, Wiki's really arent so helpful here, you pick it up as you go along, though players will help you with your questions !! Adds mystery and a little more intrigue than knowing everything.
- Tribe camps - making them is fun and you have plenty of ways to do things so no tribal camp is going to look the same.
- Future - many things to happen, like evolution from tribes to towns, player made economy.
Cons
- Combat isnt so hot atm - a new dev has join the team to overhaul the PVP combat system. (twitch based, left + right mouse/arms clicking and movement required, bit like boxing with weps lol).
- FFA PVP - a pro to PVPers, means you gotta be careful if your into gathering for crafting! people will rob you and you wanna leave ya tools in ur camp tbh, people love taking tools lol.
- Fairly raw interface, not fine tuned like Wow or Rift, its not the best user interface, but it works, just have to get used to its one way approach lol.
- Graphics arent so how on lower end machines (trees look weird when you reduce the distance viewed) but you dont really notice.
- Quests are make your own, no interesting stories, you just place an order, and hope someone will get back to you to take the reward you give, its actually also a PRO, as you make your own adventure!
TBH its hard to convey the game, theres much still in production and promised to the xsyon community, but for the moment the majority of players are loving it.

Charm points effect your fail/success rate.
Full stomach and full on water effects this too.
Crafting on empty stomach and thirsty will make your succes rate really low!
I've been playing for over a week, and I find the game to be quite easy to learn and the lack of tutorials wasn't a hindrance to me at all. Through use of forums and in-game chat, you learn as you play. I like the layer upon layer of the game mechanics you unravel and learn.
Thirst meter can be topped off at all times if so desired. I found it funny though,,,the manual recommends hunger meter at half full...to avoid the detrimental effects ..but if you keep it maintained at completely full ...your character will gain weight and eventually get fat. Now I can have an avatar just like me.....lol....ha...*sniff* *sniff*
