Haha yeah I read that one already over there. I especially liked how one of the dudes said he lowered his own rating from 5 something to 1 something. Thats the fact right there the OP missed completely. MMORPG.com ratings are not just changed by future ratings, you can go back and alter yours anytime you want.
ER is a decent game, it has way too many problems to be a great game right now, thats the problem. The dude who wrote that mess there just sounded like he was pissed off Rift got more a shake than the game he liked better. Grudge post is all I seen there. But hey, if they wanna bring in the lawyers and all hahahahahaha.
Personally I would rather see the company fix thier bugs and lag instead of spending money and time on suing MMORPG.com. Maybe thats just me though.
At least most of the people in that thread are reasonable and know exactly why ER is getting crapped on.
I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
They may want to sue my site too, we gave it a 1 out of 5 rating lol. It is a garbage game and it is obvious they are trying as hard as possible to suck as much money from the public as they can. With huge advertising even on the front page of this site.

You mean, they don't work for free? My mind is full of confusion right now. How dare they advertise their work!
You were quick to advertise ER when they were kind enough to lend you keys for beta handout, you know, driving traffic to your site.
And ER is far from garbage. Garbage is something like Star Trek Online, with a fail core design and broken foundation. ER is a diamond in the mud, most of which will be cleared up a month or two from now.
Most of his responces to his thread are telling him that everything negative about the game is true.
So I don't see what his point is in posting that thread to begin with, it seems like hes upset that the game he loves isn't doing too well, and now is mad that its getting the reviews it has earned. Its too bad.

After a couple of months you'll find out that you were playing in poo not mud and that diamond you were looking for was just a glass bead. After the free month, if there are no improvements, everyone, including myself, will leave. The server will be empty. Tricking people into buying it doesn't do anything except create more pissed off people who will just tear it apart in any form of media they come across.
I'm glad you enjoy it but that's the truth. Doesn't matter how much you try to encourage people to buy it. Its a sinking ship. All that lag you notice disappear? Yea, that's because 90% of the players have left. Xyson, on the other hand, looks really nice.

haha after a couple of months you'll find out that you were playing in shit not mud and that diamond you were looking for was just a glass bead someone ate. Have fun with ER, after the free month with no improvement everyone including myself will leave. It'll be a dead game. I'm glad you enjoy it but that's the truth. It's going to be such a waste of a beautiful gameworld and good concept if you're right. I waited for years for Earthrise to release, and now it has, and now I'm still waiting for a lot of things that need doing. Not quite ready to call it shit and glass beads yet, though. I'll give it a few months, keep an eye on it, and see if things turn around. I'm disappointed though, that they didn't listen more to sandbox players who told them for a good long while that their box needed more sand. It's too pvp focused right now, and of course, pvp is annoying with the lag. Which, for me at least, has sadly not disappeared.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
I just don't get fanboyism in general, I mean what do they gain out of it? You convince people to buy into it and then, they quit.
I understand if they had some shares in the company or they were affiliated with it and have some kind of financial gains but anything besides that is just doesn't make sense.
This case in particular, its like buying a car that doesn't work.
Sure, you can go in it, play around, and look at it but it doesn't do what every other car does, drive, it might do that some time later.....maybe, also it wont be advertised as incomplete, it will be advertised as a completly working product, If you want information about it, you have to dig around in forums. If you didn't know about these problems, tough luck, there's no refunds,
Another analogy would be paying for food at a restaurant. You pay for your meal first and you can smell the food but when and if it will be done, who knows? If you walk out thats too bad, there's no refunds and you will be billed even more after a certain time limit. There's still no guarantee that your food is going to be done and the only way to find out about this is through forums. If you didn't know, tough luck. Theres also no promise that your food is being cooked.

For certain games, thereare those that bought lifetime subs only to have "their game" go down the tubes and try very hard to get people to go play in their desolate games. Same with much of the F2P crowd, I expect, only no sub.
But for most others, I suspect it is because somehow the fanboi player identifies part or all of their own self worth, with a game, its community, reputation etc. They might not be successful in much, or have much power in their RL, but they succeed in that game. Anyone taking a crap on that game, metaphorically, is taking one on them too. Which is why no matter how bad a game is, there are always few holdouts.
That guy is free to think whatever he wants but we obviously stand by our review. If fans of the game want to come over here and post their own review or rate the game on our site that is fine as long they follow the rules. Campaigning to raise the game to a certain rating or creating multiple accounts to bump the rating (among other things) will not be tolerated.
With that said, I am going to lock this thread as it serves no constructive purpose whatsoever. Thanks guys.

lol, that's sad. just like ER.

LMAO.

Funny thing is, most users agree with the rating.
Rawr.
The rating will continue to tank and should.

Heh, it is almost as sad as Tasos's official reaction to Darkfall's Eurogamer review.
Most of his responces to his thread are telling him that everything negative about the game is true.

The very fact that they dont understand the difference between a dollar and a euro says it all.
Ever heard of an 'exchange rate' and VAT?
I was gonna go and downrate it after reading this but found out that I already gave it 1.5
Oh well, better luck next time, fail devs!

Exactly.
Honestly, its not like any other fanboy base would do differently. Rift's fanboys are a pretty good example.
The problem is fanboyism in general.
