An idea for MMO-Devs vs Facebook & Co.

Hi Gamers, bored people and the ones being paid for reading forums

Put into your taverns some kind of Poker Hold´em and Slotmachines.

*What? Why?*
I normally do not play MMOs that often, except they are different (they are mostly F2P and are mostly flamed by fans of P2P who say the next P2P MMO will fail after 3 months). But I still log from time to time into a game because it offers Poker - it is quite fun for me when I am drunken and such.

In these browser-sites you normally play this and that game - often for RL-money - and if you run out of it, you recharge it with cash. No, I don´t want to see it in MMOs.
In MMos instead you can play these games with Ingame-cash, but you have to have a minimum of gold to participate (some people like to ruin themselves).

Some bored people won´t log of and cancel, instead they ´ll waste a part of their gold on poker or slotmachine or (insertgamehere). Of course you could make a special Yourgame-edition to keep a slice of Roleplay.

    Puzzle Pirates and Fallen Earth are two fun MMOs that have gambling. I always wondred why more MMOs didn't add support for poker, slots, dice, etc.  Hell, even betting on battles and tournaments that you enter would be cool.

    There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

    Heh Puzzle Pirates was my idea when I wrote this - it is totally outdated, yet I like it somehow.
    Your last sentence just rocks. Imagine you sitting in your tavern or in a space station watching results of a battle/race/whatever.

    In my opinion some people have to recognize the possibilities in their MMOs without much work (turning themepark into sandbox and viceversa).

    There are a lot of laws about gambling.  Angry laws with pointy teeth.  Even though internet gambling may be huge, it is somwhere between illegal and just-barely-tolerated in many places.  Dedicated poker sites are very good at hiding behind layers of loopholes and money shuffling tricks.  Any site that starts dabbling in the world of real money gambling should be careful about making themselves an easy target for someone to throw a book at.

    This exactly what it shouldn´t be. It should be a Minigame where you can throw in some ingame-money, just to bypass some time or whatever.
