I recently saw some mid level guardian gameplay and I was actually quite impressed at how much I liked how they played. I usually play a caster so the whole fusion of caster with frontliner, even though I knew that it was supposed to be more like a caster than a melee with magic, didn't really sink in until I saw it with my own eyes. Its done fairly well.
Oh, and the people who played guardians during the demo sucked just as bad or worse than the people who failed at playing the thief (at least the ones who recorded video of guardian gameplay).
Maybe it was this Guardian Gameplay. He certainly played it well and he isn't exactly a MMORPG fan player. Using Staff and Torch+Sword skills.

hadn't seen that one. I think on a whole, though, a lot of people don't understand the decision to make combot much more about movement and position, and as such, don't really move around as much as they could. And lots of folksgot splattered by Oakhearts because of it.
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
Just Hope they dont put restrictions on the character slots Like GW1...if they do my plan would die
They sort of have to... since there is no monthly fee. This limits how much data each account could/should take up.
That doesn't make much sense, or rather, I don't see what the lack of monthly fee has to do with it. I can't think of an MMO, pay to play or otherwise, that allows for infinite character slots. Every game I've played has a limit, from City of Heroes/Villains to Rift, and you have to buy extra character slots with those games, too.
I would love to vote, but I still can't decide between a Ranger, Elementalist, and Necromancer. Guardian also has my interest, as well as the mystery "Charr holding gigantic gun" profession that I want to know more about before I decide.
Everything! But a Sylvari necro or mesmer will probably end up being my main unless I really enjoy the thief gameplay.
I really like that there is a balance of race and classes in the survey. That is probably a decent cross-section of the people that are interested in Guild Wars 2 now. Sign of a good game when you have a balance like that. I do not love the larger proportions of thief in there, but I think some of that can be attributed to it being newest and pretty cool to watch.

Seem like Thief is pretty heavily wanted. Might be that the profession was just released, or it's just that rad.
But I'm surprised more people haven't talked about Norn Thiefs. I mean, what do you think the purpose of the Snow Leopard spirit is but for Ranger/Thief? Does anyone know anything more specific about the spirit animals Norns can shape-change into? I've perused the blog but haven't seen anything specific about the Norn spirits.
Cant say yet which profession Im going to roll. But I dont think Im going to roll an elementalist or guardian. Found elementalist in GW1 the most boring profession and the way it is represented in GW2 it doesnt seem more interesting. Guardian not, because of the combat style, which I dont like as much as the other profession.
Strong contenders for me are Thief, Ranger and Warrior. Necromancer is a dangerous outsider
I will be getting extra character slots so I can have at least 8. I will roll 1 of each and possibly make it to 80 on at least one character before 1st expansion. Then I buy more slots for any new classes and play them too. I'm sure a few will be played more than others, but the important thing is I'm willing to give em all a try. Not something I can say for any other mmo.
My main will be a human warrior. I always pick a human or elf and a warrior/rouge class. Not a fan of magic personally and i cant play other races(as my main), it ruins immersion for me. I pretend that that's me in the game, with my moral values.
I'm still rolling other races and professions, to try them out, just my main has to be, like its me in the game. i hope this makes sense.
Played: SWG-FFXI-EQ2-Aion
Anticipated in order of Hype: ArcheAge GW2 TERA SWTOR
Not enough info, but looks promising: Blade & Soul
If I had to choose right now, it would be a toss up between a human warrior/ranger, but I'm curious as to what the last two will be. Mesmer is my favorite caster so I will definitely have one of those, but if the last profession is interesting enough I may go for that.
I'm going to start out with a Mesmer as that sort of class appeals to me, especially if they've retooled it to be anything like the Telepath from Champions Online, one aspect of it is that I might be choosing to not kill my opponents but simply disable them, and that would make for an interesting character. That is if there's a Mesmer there. The other role will be the steam/dieselpunk-ish one that I think many suspect will turn up. I'd also like to give hte Thief a spin, too, as I liked what I saw there.
My first race will be the Charr because I want escapism from my games so... yeah, you don't get much more escapist-y than the Charr, they're very unusual, even for a fantasy setting they're odd. Then I'm going to branch out and try everything else. I'm interested in the Norn and Sylvari as well, and the Asura, but the Asura mostly for their city. I'll pick up a human last because I've played a human in everything, ever... I played a human in Guild Wars 1, I'm playing a human in Portal right now, and I'm over-exposed to the kind of renaissance faire thing that humans have going on. So considering that my only choice thus far has been human human human human human human, and now I have a choice, I'm going to try something that's not human! Makes sense, yeah?

Ranger I think or Elementalist, not sure what race.

THen i am going to pick all the other classes and try them will all the different races...to lvl 10
then pick the one i liked the most and lvl it to 80 then lvl the rest them to 80 the do pvp then WvW then dungeons then .....
OH ma Gawd it will be Legendary... Dx
Just Hope they dont put restrictions on the character slots Like GW1...if they do my plan would die

As with GW1, they will probably sell character slots.
Asura theif
Norn ranger
Charr warrior
Asura something
Human guardian
Then idk

I can't even settle on a race just yet!
Definintely rolling thief.
Played one at Pax and it's the most fun I've had in a game in ages.Hopefully its popularity is only due to it being the most recently released
Rolling for main? I still don't know really.
i was gonna roll a thief.... but i never liked rogue classes that dont have unlimited stealth.....
so ill probably roll azura / sylvari necro, charr / norn hunter... and waiting for the next classes to be revealed of course to end my desicion
Everything! But a Sylvari necro or mesmer will probably end up being my main unless I really enjoy the thief gameplay.

WTF? No subscription fee?

Charr Warrior will likely be my first character.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
I will be playing an Asuran Thief using a shortbow/dagger combo and a Norn or Human Guardian with a 2h sword/staff combo.
I'm thinking of making a Charr mesmer so she can wear all that slutty mesmer negligee armor, as long as they don't abandon the mesmer class of course.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

Definitely human to start though.
