Been playing for 7 hours now... No lag. Steady at 46 36 53..  lol  We'll see..

Now try playing with that low ping when there are more then 100 players logged ingame.

Server was at "high" capacity all yesterday according to in-game announcements.  He checked in a few times to see who was experiencing lag.  We had no lag at all the entire evening,  from about 5:30pm when I got on, until about 2:30am when I logged off and then this morning from 7 AM to around 11 AM when I got on for a bit as well.  My ping stays constantly at 47.. sometimes drops to 35.

Yupp.. seems that whatever it was that was the major cause of lag is now gone.. We do get an occasional spike and maybe a crash every 6 hours or so but so far the thing is working.

Yupp, agree. Since the last patch a day ago the game is pretty stable.

    A miracle patch!

I didnt think that such miracle patches really exist, i thought they were only myths. But it seems that Xsyon proved me wrong.

I didn't read all of this, but...

For the past two days there's been pretty much no lag, they've managed to fix whatever was causing it. They've got everything turned on that was supposed to be turned on for Prelude. They've got a new coder coming in to work on the animals to try and keep them running into the mist (the edges of the world) but Jordi's said he will spawn new animals as needed. For only having two actual coders working on the game, atm, I think they've done a pretty impressive job of launching the game. Even the first few weeks of WoW were rocky...

So far, I think this game is a lot of fun but I think you really need to have a group of people to play with, or at least make some friends in the game. I can't see myself playing it solo like you can in a lot of mmos. I see a lot of potential for the plans he has as the game progresses. This could be a really unique MMO with a lot to offer.

I was willing to play this game during beta/pre-launch with its quirks, bugs and incomplete features; after launch is a different story.

They improved the current lag situation and I'm glad to hear that.  Who's to say, though, that they next time the turn on or introduce a new feature, that same lag bug won't return?  So far their pattern has been to implement new things, get in over their heads and back peddle for the next few days/weeks to fix what went wrong.

As I mentioned in the review I gave this game – a small game with a small dev team needs to be nearly flawless upon release.  I mean, they have less than half the features implemented or turned on in the game (Not just Prelude features, but overall features like Animal Taming, Religion, a use for stats like Spirit and possibly archery not to mention the plethora of "junk" you can scavenge that has no viable purpose at the moment) and they’ve still had these problems hit rather hard.

Even though I might want to support a small developer, my money's too tight at the moment to take a risk on a game with this track record.  I'd rather spend that money on something more beneficial or entertaining instead of "potential" future entertainment.

I do feel though they will end of having to go micro trasactions to really grow the game as its hard to sell the game in its current state when someone could play LOTRO, EQ2, or DDO for free which all are very polished finished games. I also think at some point they will need to do a graphics update.  I for one though will try this game agian down the road as I like the fact that its not like every other mmo out there it really has its own feel. Is it for everyone no not at all, but I do think this game will make it just based on how different it is from all the rest. PS: Almost forgot add a damn compass Xsyon Dev's

There is a reason I am quoting you.  Last sentence.  Not having a compass, makes you tuned in to your surroundings.  Yes, you can get lost, but if you pay attention to landmarks, you can always find your way home.  Remember, technology is gone, we are starting new civilizations.

The game is not finished and probably will never be finished.  They will always tweak and add stuff to it.  I am sticking around because I find the game to be very relaxing, except when I go out of my tribes compound.  Then I get nervous.  When I leave to do something, I pack all my good stuff away before I leave, planning on getting jumped and robbed.  Also, I ask my tribe if there are spare fishing poles, axes or whatever I will need to go outside, just in case.

This game is very unique.  It will never be free to play.  If it becomes vaporware, so be it.  I will just move on.  So far, the Devs have a vision, and I want to be a part of it, for better or for worse.

Yes it is unfinished, and the graphics need some polishing, but it is such a refreshing mmo in my opinion I just went ahead and bought it, and I'm not one to just buy a game on a whim. I feel like I have that sense of adventure I've been missing from all the larger titles. I'm sticking around for sure and hope that they continue expanding. So far I'm having a blast exploring and having real quality fun again! And the best part, it's skill based and not level based!! I'm so glad to be let loose from that leash haha

    One more thing

I really doubt a game with 3k playerbase have only 50/100 players ingame on launch days.

I must say I'm starting to see sense in the OPs post more and more.

I've been playing this game since April last year and I'm afraid my patience is wearing extremely thin. Fortunately I'm still not paying any money, but in it's current state I won't be paying a monthly fee.

I like the post with the people saying why they will stay, and I know there is a community of people who really believe in this project but I am increasingly concerned that the developers simply don't have the ability to meet their own, and their players expectations.

The game has made progress in the last 10 months without doubt, but I fear the rate of progress is too slow. Design mistakes made, may well break the game before it has the chance to develop. I had planned on playing tonight, instead I've spent almost 3 hours waiting and my game will be updated just in time for me to go to bed.

Big, slow updates happen often, but with very little real change. I have genuinely come to the conclusion that the developers, despite their clear good intentions, just don't really understand how to fix their game.

I have to agree, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.  Its not a matter of intention, but rather ability or lack thereof that is in question and right now I think they are guessing more than knowing.

I agree with Miner... Barely can force myself to log in anymore and all the hype is long gone, only disappointment is left...

I'm searching for a new game again :X Seems like SWtOR and GW2 aren't brinning anything new to the table either. Maybe 2012 will?
