All old characters wiped?!

If this is true I am really disappointed.  That was the appeal to trying the game again as a person who played the game before.

They've said people will get their old characters back at some point. The only caveat is that your guns, vehicles, money, and progression will be gone, because those things are getting revamped. You'll still have your characters, clothing, and artwork.

And names will be had on a first come basis per server. So if you have a more common name you'll want to know when this happens and get in early.
