I like the game, and I have no intention to prove why I should. Just saw all the threads saying this game is not good and will die makes me wonder am I the only one like it. Or, maybe these threads (try to) give a false impression that this game does not worth to try.
So, please reply if you also like it.
Well, if you don't, no problem. But I am not expecting you to post in this thread, because you have so many others to post on.
I will judge how lonely I am by the number of reply.

I like it a lot. Been playing since Alpha. Played through Beta, and still playing. It is a solid MMO and the world events are a blast.
I´m loving the game
I tried at beta and since them im hooked on Rift^^
Im doing now T2 Dungeons and yesterday my Guild tried the first Rift Raid....so much to do still
and with the upcoming patch even more!!
I played through beta, gave it a shot in retail. To me, it was just kind of - meh. I got to lvl 30 and lost interest. It's just too simiilar to the MMO standards. This is something I've come to expect, I mean all FPS are pretty much the same as well as other genres, so I don't expect too much deviation any more. In the end, I just went back to games that I had more time invested in and more friends playing.
The world events and rift invasions got boring for me pretty quick. I will admit, they had some innnovative ideas and did their best to spice it up. If it was someone's first MMO, it would rule all I'm sure. It's going to take something really special for me, I'm pretty jaded on games these days.
I can see how someone would really love it though.
It's good. And since TW doesn't have to spend years patching their engine (as most studios had to do after their release), they have plenty of time to add more content or simply to keep improving.
I like it currently have a 40 cleric main....but depending on how the dungeon queue affects the world is going to dictate whether i stay or not.
So...you like it this much...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_X8ZZwcs4k&feature=related
or this much....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH9t44iOiA4
Just reminds me of that everytime someone says that.
But, the game is solid or decent. I might actualy play it, had it released a year or two ago, but I just can't bring myself to play a game like this anymore, even if it is solid. I'm just tired of it, if you aren't tired of this type of game, then it's a great choice.
I do like the game, got a character up to lvl 42 but I think the community is what will end it for me. Like WAR the game works better with a higher population but once I hit the 30s-40s people were just no where to be found or they wanted to do nothing but quest and it just makes the rift system (invasions) more a crutch then a positive. I think the fundamentals of the game are good but with the lfg system inbound, the pop slowly dwindling and communication a rarity I just see this becoming a decent lobby game.

I liked it when I first started testing it, but I quickly came to realize I'm sick of playing solo to max level, instanced themeparks. Rift is a very well made game, but it was just too similar to the other themeparks to justify me spending money on it.
Personally, I like the game. I played in beta and knew I'd like the game enough to sign up for a six month sub.
But I go about playing MMO's vastly contrastive to most of my fellow gamers. In that I mean I think I associate MMO's to like a fine wine. Meaning I believe they can (with a solid base) get better with time. In essence I don't rush to be the best and or have the best materialistic things in the shortest time possible . I play a game at my own speed.
This way is also advantageous to other genres or any software coded game for that matter. I will never buy a game no matter what the genre, i.e. shooters, rpg's, adventure types when they first come out, as there is usually bound to be an issue. I always wait 3-4 months after release to purchase for the dev's to patch it up. Or with MMO's if I know I enjoy the basics, I'll sub for more that a month, knowing full well the dev's will usually add material and fix the bugs.
I guess bottom line for me is "patience is a virtue"
I like the game and more-so than any other lobby-system rpg. I played for a couple of months, made it to level 50 and really enjoyed the journey.
However, I dont pay $15/month for a DOTA-like mmo where your end-game consists of running the same dungeons over and over and over again or waiting for a queue to pop for the same redundant shoe-box 10v10 pvp cage-matches over and over and over again for pursuit of a purple item, to only continue to do the same thing I did previously.
I recommend Rift and the Journey.
Played Beta, through Release and still playing. I like it.
Its a good, fun MMO. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.

ITS TOO HARD! - Matt Firor (ZeniMax)
This is something I just can't fathom. So let me ask the certain individuals who reach max level and play games (more importantly MMOs') that are released less than 2 months old, how they can expect a vast end-game experience?
These things take time, just like anything else in life that one enjoys.
I just don't get it...
Heheh, probably the first one.
You know, I came here to post something similar, so I'm just going to quote you instead and say I agree.
The only thing I would add for myself to this is: I never played WoW (yes I know, I'm one of "those" guys). I had absolutely no idea what people meant when they told me that Rift's endgame was just like WoW's. Well, now I know.
Waiting for SWTOR or GW2, now!
Decent PVP would hold my interest... as it did in plenty of other MMO's.
Unfortunately rift's version of PVP, even on PVP server, is just a boring, lame, repetitive, instanced, meaningless grindfest.
Rift IMO was kind of fun for a month or two (although nothing new), but the boring and repetitive endgame and lame instanced PVP killed it - at least for me.
A buddy of mine is really into it and I got to try it out at his house. The graphics were really nice but besides that it felt a lot like wow, a different world and story but still like wow. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just a bit burnt out of that type.
I'm sure I would play for a bit if I got an account but I'm really waiting around for something different and more involved, I was disappointed with FFXIV and Star Trek Online but I'm hoping Guild Wars 2 won't let me down.
I like the game. I've played since the later beta-events and have played the game a couple of hours more or less every day. I've got six alternative characters I play simulataneously with none of them being any higher level than 40, why? Because I think the end-game always sucks- in all games, whether MMO, Multiplayer or Singleplayer. Quite simply it's dragged down either by a bitter finality to every step you take, or the bland pointlessless of accomplishing nothing and reaching nowhere.
I enjoy the journey but the end destination is never all that fun. I might burn out once I max my characters' levels and I expect that as well, as no MMO has held my attention beyond that point. Regardless, I've enjoyed the game so far which means I got a few months of playtime out of it, making it a worthy purchase I don't regret.
I feel quite well entertained. *shrug*

If you tell us what sort of games you have played, what you liked, what you did not; then we could say if Rift is for you. I am quite happy with it.
I like the game been playing since beta and am still playing I have a 43 cleric so I didn’t rush to end game I’m really enjoying the game if you want a solid mmo with nothing new this would be the game for you if you want new and innovating move along son this isn’t for you lol.
To me it just seemed like a cruddier version of WoW with more realistic but really bland graphics. I quit WoW for a reason, don't need to replay it. I'll wait for something else.
Well graphics are ok..
but gameplay is terrible. imo..
cheers
I was an alpha tester and could not wait till launch, after a month I was like wtf there is nothing to do at 50 but the SAME dungeons you already did with a couple new bosses. I have seen posts that Rift has the same amount of expert dungeons that wow has which is a horrible comparison since the experts in WoW for the most part are not unlocked till way higher in the leveling process not to mention all the non 85 heroic ones that you do while leveling. Rift has like 10 dungeons total WoW has how many???? They could have at least added 3-5 new ones that you could do at 50 instead of taking the easy way out.
For those of you that say what did you expect when you reached 50 in three weeks all I can say is what Trion did. "This game starts at endgame", They have touted that all along, which is why it takes a a minimal amount of time to get to 50. Hell even when wow lauched it took more then 2 weeks to hit 50. People were 50 in less then a week on some servers which is just stupid. What ever happened to developing a character over time and enjoying the long process in which it took, I liked the game 10 times better when I was leveling then I did at endgame.
PvP I won't even get into how bad it is just go look at the PvP servers they are becoming ghost towns for the most part (Notice I did not say all before you come up with well this server shows full all the time).
The sad thing is, the endgame is a boring and repetitive gear/rep grind that has been done before and better by another game. All in all I just feel very dissapointed the game could have been a whole lot more.
Rift is an amalgam of its predecesors.
Zone Events are Rift's Niche.
Like others have said: Play the game for its story & Rift system.
All else has already been done. Like a good book, read it through it at least once; you will not regret it.
I hate this game.
