New possible player with some questions

djnexusdjnexus Member Posts: 677

Ive been scoping out Aion for a little while now, ive never played it and have tried pretty much everything out on the market. What I like most in mmo's is crafting and pvp and Aion has both. With that in mind I had a few questions.

1. Do I need to buy the base game before getting the expansion or does the expansion include the base game?

2. And lastly does anyone have a free trial of some sort to were I could test the game out before purchasing.

Thanks.

Thinking about giving this game a shot myself, most importantly, how's the community? Mature, immature, childish, helpful? I work odd hours so I may forced to solo a bit, would that work out in this game?

well like in every mmo you will find all of them. my advice to everyone who wants a nice community is always to join a guild/legion. even retarded ppl usually act kinda better in a guild/legion then with rdm ppl.

and yeah you can solo. there are also some solo instances. best classes for solo are cleric, gladiator and spiritmaster. but actually you can solo with all of them.

You can also solo pretty well as a sorceror. However, if you make a mistake you have to be on your toes because they are pretty squisy.

The community is a mixed bag. Better to join a good guild.

As with most NC games you just need to buy the game and you get everything. the updates are always included.

Cool I was about to come ask this question, because I have the original collecters edition and may want to check out 2.5 patch for a month or so and wasnt sure if I needed to buy AoB expansion. Is there a free trial or something of the sort so I can check it out before I resub once 2.5 comes out?

lol.. yes when you hit level 10 depending on server and the time of day/night.   What you might see scrolling by in /3 would often tempt one to immediantly hit /cancel.

There seem to be quite a few nice legions and the player base out in the world in general is actually very good.

I just went back to Aion last week and hadn't played since it went live in North America.. lots has changed.
