Dear Community,

The celebrations continue for gamigo's 10th birthday! We’ve got a special gift for all our gamigo gamers: register for the game now and you can start playing Elements of War Online on Monday!

On top of that, this weekend you will get, for the first time ever in the history of gamigo, a whopping 25% bonus on all* cash packets purchased in our shop!

What is Elements of War Online?

Elements of War Online drops players into the fray of exciting and ever-changing strategic battles in real time. Players put together their own armies using a variety of unit types and then train and equip these. The arsenal of weapons available includes infantry, tanks and helicopters as well as experimental units and the ultimate weapon: units that unleash the elements in the form of earthquakes, tornados or thunderstorms.

How do I start playing during beta testing?

Well i managed to find a key, download and try the game.

    not sure where to start.

First of all, you get 12 RTS units, theres no base building, no defenses, just 12 units (6 troop and 6 vehicles) Kind of boring considering the RTS game mechanics.  These mechanics are further hamperd by (im sure this is a product of it being beta) all sorts of control, movement, and pathing problems.

I dont even know where to start on this..the camra pans about as slow as the vehicles move when on its highest speed setting in the options, by deafualt the map is flipped upside down from your view of the troops (you click south of the map and the troops move up).  The units seem to path incorrectly, basically you need to constantly click where you want to move to get your units there. Unit movment was clunky slow and unresponsive.  The maps are very small and all seem the same.

    Now to some other complaints:

They drew the united states map wrong.

There was a max of 8 players online, only one spoke english, within minuets i was the only one on the server.

Some of the voice overs are in either russian or germans (cant tell).  So when trying to redeploy troops or some other major event, i got no clue what the announcer lady is saying or whats going on.

The lore is the Russian Federation vs the USA...kay how about a real enemy to the USA thats actually a threat with a respecible millitary like the EU or China or something...not to mention that the whole USA vs Russia things been beaten to death over the last 80 years or so....

Basically i played a few games (against the computer since i was the only one on) the movements, pathing, and camera were far too slow and clunky to even conider competative play, at that, it was extremely difficult to utilize diffrent troops and vehicles in this enviroment.  Id select a machine gunner to attack an enemy infantry near him and hed trot of in the other direction.  People in homes or other fortifications were not attacking people in front of them, and died fast while inside these fortifications.

Terrible game.  Last time i try an unheard of game via a forum viral marketer.

Even if this game gets polished...its still going to be nothing more than a 12 vs 12 RTS fight over an incorrectly drawn map of the 50 states (you gotta fight russia from taking over the US state by state lulz)  My favoriot was oklahoma, which looked like a deformed clenched fist with no panhandle....also, what i assume to me major cities were in incorrect locations (not a huge deal considering they didnt consult a real map as to how the states are drawn)

Anyway, save yourself the 2gig download, the mechanics of the game itself are dreadfully boring, taking everything thats boring from RTS games, removing whats fun about them, and pitting you up in a 12 vs 12 auto attack fight.

these f2p companies pump out too many of these type of games that attract a small palyerbase and end up dying after a short while.  WHY DONT THEY JUST FOCUS ON MAKING A GOOD GAME!?
