I really enjoyed the several months I played CoH last year on my old rig with it's wimpy 512MB HD3870 (well it was good in Jan 2007!). I have since built a much faster computer but after many google searches, I am finding that my dual 6850s in crossfire will not get put to their fullest potential. This is because CoH is either not optimized for dual GPU or AMD just hasn't created a Crossfire profile for the game. Can anyone shed some definitive light on this at all? Anyone currently playing with dual GPUs of either brand getting any kind of performance boost? All in all I just don't know if I'd enjoy playing knowing that one of my 6850s is taking a nap.

Unfortunately, I do not think there has been any progress on the AMD/Crossfire support front.  It's kind of odd that Going Rogue is one of the featured games on the AMD games website though.

A rhetorical question for you is -- does CoH have to use the full potential of the technology in order to be satisified with your build, or does it have to run well enough to play and have fun?

Not what you want to read, but I abandoned ATI back in.....2004 I think.  I'm actually running on the bare minimum video card for Ultra-Mode, an EVGA 8800 GT SSC (a factory overclocked nvidia), and that gets the job done very well still.  Is there a reason why you couldn't just run a single ATI card for CoH and leave the rest of that firepower for other graphically intense games?

You're right therain, just one of my cards is more than adequate. Guess I'll have to just try it out.
