this is F2P (temp) for all now?

in Final Fantasy XIV

Is this game free for all who purchased the game (as in no subs) or is this in some kind of free to download and try mode untill they pull their act together?

I only ask because i kind of like to try games that everyone else hates, usually i like them, however ive heard some pretty bad things about the UI and combat...might not like that.

So for me, someone who never purchased the game, do i have the oppertunity to give the game a go now?  Or is this some sort of "were sorry" free time for those who paid for the game?

And really...how bad is this...if i plan on playing without a controller...

    You have to have purchased the game and yes, it's THAT bad.

    Don't look at FFXIV twice. Save your money.

    I do have hope for this game in the future though, but from how I see it, don't waist your time at the moment.

    Sometimes even "free" is too much to pay.

    But go ahead a buy it, just don't go preaching to the choir about how bad it is, everyone already knows.

    Meh. The game isn't nearly as bad as most here would have you think. The main problem right now is simply the lack of content, which is slowly being fixed. As it stands, I consider it better than any F2P game except LotRO.

    Even after several months still the same people write that they dislike the game?  Seriously some people should move on.

    at launch is was abso-freakin-lutely miserable.

     

    SqE got their dose of humility that they should have gotten a long time ago and have been fixing it.

     

    it's a lot better now but needs more improvement.  Its still got an oddball UI but if you are a FF fan it's a lil less oddball.

     

    I'd say the game is worth picking up for a 20-spot and playing at least some few weeks for free, especially if you like the art and style of FF.  if the game was 49 bucks and 15 a month it would not be worth it, at least not yet. 

     

    everything i hear from SqE makes me more and more confident that they will make a gem out of what was a few months ago, a steaming turd.
