At least I think so, the official website is not that clear.

Anyway my question is, assuming the expansion is released, is should I do the free trial now? Or would it be better to wait until they iron out bugs related to the expansion launching?

It has been released - was released last Sunday.

My recommendation would be to wait a little longer (perhaps a few days or so) if you just plan on trying it once.  From my understanding, many people have been trying the free trial multiple times, so in that case, it might not matter as much.
