Despite all the gloom and doom threads from those who havn't touched the game, here is a continuing sign that the game is going in the right direction. I think this game is going to be big and it will be fun for a huge number of people, especially those who don't visit forums lol

I saw the awards listed on another site as well and I have to admit, I am impressed by the sheer number of them, not to mention the categories they were winning.
"If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?"
...but Gman, these awards must be biased, paid by Bioware, its a conspiracy by all of the news outlets, as everyone knows the game has no swimming lol. Anyway, maybe this is the link you saw. I just found it also on the official site. I think it went un-noticed by most. I'll add it to the OP. :-)

There Is Always Hope!
This crap needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
How many things at E3 this year wree announced in 2008?
Most of the stuff that was announced at E3 was announced for the first time.
A lot of people were there knowing what was going to avalaible. Individuals didn't show up knowing what new game would be coming out on the XBOX 360...
Now for your "awards".
Electric Playground – Best of E3 2011
Other winners of that same award,
Streetfighter CROSS Tekken
Skulls of the Shogun
Need for Speed
Star Trek
BloodRayne
Prototype 2
Batman Arkham City
Bastion
Mass Effect 3
Uncharted 3
BioShock Infinite
Sound Shapes
Modern Warefare 3
Prey 2
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City
and Skyrim
Yes... Congrats SWTOR.
You earned the same award. BTW.... for those of you who didn't know. The highest budget for any one of those games I just listed is around 100 million. SWTOR is well over 200 million at this point.
"Success" I see it more as a "Failure", since SWTOR didn't win best in show as the highest budget game there.
GamePro – Best MMO
GameSpy – MMO Game of Show
Massively – Best MMO of E3 2011
Meristation – Best MMO
MMOCrunch – Most Anticipated MMO
MMORPG – Most Anticipated MMO of E3 2011
VGChartz – Best Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game
What other MMOs were there? LMAO. Seriously? Do you people have any critical thinking ability.
GW2 didn't go, and yet, SWTOR was still nearly beatout by a NEW concept MMO (Trion's Defiance) which has a budget of 1/5 that of SWTOR.
SWTOR won those titles by default. The contenders didn't show. Reason being their games speak for themselves. Bioware is hiding their game behind cinematics.
Lets move on...

SWTOR isn't the only one with the title. Please tell me you people have some level of critical thinking and looked for this stuff on your own?
Meristation – Best MMO
Meristation – Best Trailer
Meristation is a Mexican game news company.
How many US games make it to Mexico?
Regardless, take a look at their site, and you will see why their claims don't carry much weight.
Massively – Best Trailer of E3 2011
Best E3 Trailer: SWTOR "Return"
It's a fucking cinamatic. Who the FUCK CARES. It's a CINAMATIC.
Machinima – Best PC Game
How many PC only (that is what they are refering to here guys, PC only game) were present at E3?
BTW, here is a quote from their explanation for the award "It’s not exactly common to see a game at E3 three years in a row".
Seriously guys. Critical thinking. Bioware didn't perform. SWTOR didn't perform.
They got the 8 year old sportsmanship trophy. They got the trophy that was given out by every company that got an interview.
Thanks, but no thanks. Its the opinions of those that haven't touched the game that should be taken with a grain of salt, not the opinions of those who actually play it..many of which changed their opinions since last summer.
There Is Always Hope!
Have you noticed they have been going through and deleting all the posts showing how many other games won the same exact award and the fact that SWTOR was one of the few, and the only mmo with a budget of more than 20 million dollars (SWTOR is over 200 million) at E3?
Bioware is on a major coverup mission right now. There are sites with SWTOR beta information that can't be searched for by google.
I wonder why =P.
well,
I played the game in November (only to level 10) and even that early in production it was still the best game I've ever played.
I can't wait for release.
it must be nice to live in a world of conspiracy. if you don't like the kind of games that at the moment reign supreme in the MMO genre, apparently much to your chagrine and frustration, but at least try to be a bit objective. There's enough information out there of people who played the game, try to find those, most of them actually liked the gameplay. Yes, I know it must be shocking and appalling to you that there are MMO gamers that actually like games that you don't WoW must have pushed you into near-chronical shock for more than 6 years already, I gather.
The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's
The ease with which predictions are made on these forums:
Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."
Actually Ojass, the trolling blogger known as EA Louse who originally said this game would be costing several hundred million US dollars is a admitted liar. He renounced his claims after it was shown he could not be right in any way shape or form. He was a self admitted FORMER employee of BioWare AND not even with the division of BioWare that is producing this game nor had any way of knowing the costs involved. YOUR cedibility just went down several notches by trying to quote him. It was said by an EA Rep that this game is costing between 80 and 120 million instead. He wasn't any clearer than that unless something was said AFTER about two months ago
As for the sites you mentioned. It is common knowledge that search engines bar those kinds of sites from their searches once they are informed about them. The people putting up the information in the first place are violating contracts and the search engines can be held at least partially responsible for "damages" if they don't. No conspiracy there, just the law. It's also not cover up, it's protecting your cash cow untill the final product is ready for release. Smart too concidering how many games in the last few years promised things that were NOT in the final product and suffered for it in a big way.
"If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?"
These awards don't mean that much it seems, let's wait till GamesCom and Pax Prime to see how SW:ToR will perform there against other games.
You missed the final line:
Gamepro: 'But the demo shown during E3 gave us more hope than ever that BioWare will actually pull this game off.'
Personally I don't hold much value towards all these kinds of awards, I think they're all just neat for sites that post them to generate another article or boost their site hits, but not for anything more else. Nice, funny, but irrelevant.
Actual gameplay (preferrably by myself) or footage and detailed hands on reports I find more interesting myself.
I find it actually commendable, what they did. Even if it wasn't a game that is to their own taste, they could be objectively enough to not let their judgement be overruled by emotional bias or personal preference. Which can be considered a good thing in principle: looking at a game for what it offers in general, not for what it offers to you. Too many people, reviewers included, do that last part already.

The ease with which predictions are made on these forums:
Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."
I donno, it sounded more like a "give us an award or we wont give you any more information to report" type of award:D
they had to give them "something" to keep the information pipeline flowing...
Getting awards for SWTOR is nothing new, and TOR isn't hard up for any awards, they could not get another award until launch and still have more than just about every other game getting ready to launch. They've had playable demos for, what a year or two now? They've been showing footage for much longer. Simply put, people are ready to see the game launch, and the reveals at the shows aren't quite where sites want them to be to give that "wow" factor.
Its true, the reveals are very luke warm, and thats simply because the development cycle has been set so that they release information piece by piece. You see more of a steady stream and less of a roller coaster. This is a good thing, though I still wonder how so many people are so misinformed over what the game offers.
That being said, BioWare doesn't need the awards they are given, not for SWTOR, not for ME3, they just happen to receive them. The games speak for themselves.
"Is it adding phenomenal level of story and immersion on top of polished MMO gameplay? You better believe it."
that doesn't sound particularly lukewarm to me.
I dont see the point of awards for games that have not released yet. Dont get me wrong, Im looking forward to play SWTOR too, its just that giving rewards for carefully orchestrated information bits and demos seems kind of silly.
I can understand awards for concept art though or trailers , because they are finished products on their own.
Ojass: 3 posts. Ridiculous amount of hate. Not much more to say, you sir seriously made a big post trying to bash TOR for what it would be worth anyway in this site, and in the same post by being too obvious you destroyed your own intentions utterly. More patience next time if you really want to start a flame war.
I seem to remember Warhammer Online winning a few awards pre-release as well....
I don't put much stock in them
Mmo.Maverick WHy not jsut let the game rest on its laurels. Its fanboys like you that give this genre such a bad name and it get pathetic every day theres a new post by you priasing SWToR for any little thing trying to raise the hype. I am prolly just as excited about the potential of GW2 but yet you dont see me apologizing every day for it in assanine posts.
The game will do fine, it wont kill WoW since its not new and doesnt add enough new to draw customers away but that doesnt mean it wont be successful like a Rift has and thats not a bad thing, its just not innovative enough for alot of people. Its perfvectly OK if gamers arnt looking forward to SWToR or are calling out its weakness so let it rest.

What you consider weaknesses others may find them as strengths. The biggest hit against SWTOR is the mass of misinformation and biased thinking people have going against what SWTOR is. If you don't like it, just don't like it, but instead we have the same people who don't like it posting in every thread that has anything good to say about the game.
Why not reply in kind with positive opinions, or are negative ones the only ones allowed?
I don't understand what the big deal is. Clearly he showed all of those awards mean nothing. TOR's competition was Defiance and Dust 514 (a console mmo)?
Whatever his intentions are (I don't care), his post shows those awards are gimme awards, like a "good job" from a little kid's parent when they make contact hitting a baseball.
Why not reply with whatever your opinions are, or are positive ones the only ones allowed?
Maximum Hyping For the Win!!!
An honest review of SW:TOR 6/10 (Danny Wojcicki)
I did reply with a slightly positive opinion but I also want to point out the over-abundance of fanboyish posts trying to justify their game of choice. I jsut find it funny that on the highest rated 'hyped' MMO on the coming soon list; GW2 has almost zero posts trying to justify their existence instead their posts are all game related or discussion of game theory. If you all here would leave out the obvious flame bait fanboyish posts then gamers like me wont have to come along and burst your bubble because as much as you want to believe SWToR isnt the next best thing since sliced bread.

I don't care what your opinions are or how you post them. If someone posts a negative opinion, don't get pissed when you get a reply stating or showing the exact opposite as a counterpoint.
There is one difference though. SWTOR forum has to deal with disgruntled SWG vets or other players that wanted to see a more sandbox kind of Star Wars game. So compared to GW2 forum the tone of posts in SWTOR forum are more extreme in both directions.
No the major difference here is that on this site what is mainstream is a problem. There have been plenty of posts about the issues GW2 has, and I've been on the giving end of what I dislike about GW2 as well as SWTOR.
The major difference is, GW2 in all its MMORPG.COM "popular goodness" rarely holds enough weight for people to continue an overarching displeasure campaign. I plan on playing both games, so I don't harp on what I don't like about both of them.
Whenever I do post my displeasure, you don't think there are people who are blinded by GW2 and defend it against all odds?
Okay let's take a look at these awards and wonder how many MMOs were actually at E3..... yeeeaaaa.....
This is not a game.
