I dont understand this thread. Probably more than half of these games are nearly identical replicas of original MMORPG classic combat a la EQ (which WOW copied so successfully). I think many of the games listed here are listed simply for being different from EQ/WOW, which is a much broader differentiation than only measuring different combat implementation.

Darkfal has aiming.
GW2 has dodge, and not sure about cooldowns. also no friendly aims. Tera also aim based.
Eve is a Afk friendly game.
Aion uses click to move and auto follow. also the combat is much more slow and afk like.
DarkSpace has distinctly non WoW/EQ style combat. I would argue that Eve does not belong on this list as it uses very similar combat mechanics in terms of 'skill' use.

Strange. I wasnt aware WoW/EQ utilized things like lock on mechanics for multiple targets with different locking speeds & distances, weapon effectiveness being determind by velocity, range, direction, shield & armor strengths & resistances, and about a dozen other things that seperate EVE combat from a WoW/EQ style.
About the only thing they DO have in common is the fact that you press a key/click your mouse to use a weapon/skill.... but then again thats the case with every game.

In EQ you can only use 8 spells during combat. In WoW you can use all of them. Huge difference.
