Its time to make REAL mmorpg

Kain_DaleKain_Dale Member UncommonPosts: 378

There is no such good mmorpg since Asheron's Call.  They dont need to make game linear, hold hand and more... ITS ENOUGH!!!

We want FREEDOM!  There is no game has much freedom as Asheron's Call.  The combat system, the character buildup system is beyond the most FUNNEST than any MMORPG game out there.  Why?  Because it gives u so much goals to work on whatever you want!  Adventure,  Going on rare quest for awesome reward, not for exp!  Ideally, when u log in the game for first time... You choose whereever you want to go.  Not dumbed down NPC with ? mark icon(really?) standing outside of you waiting to guide you through game.  Come on.. you can do much better than that!  This need to be real world like real life!  You choose what u want to do, what to become, and much more.  Freedom is key-word to create the game!

Regards.

There is no such thing as a "REAL mmorpg".  You are basically saying it to mean whatever you define a mmorpg to be.

We (the players/consumers) speak but do they (developers/publishers) really listen?

Our words seem to fall on deaf ears. Which is a shame really, a game with more freedom would (in my opinion) draw in a bigger player base than most of the mush over prptective parent style of games we have today. Most of the games of late have unfortunately followed this route and it's slowly leading to their demise, have they realised or do they choose to just ignore and hope it's only a phase?

    Thoughts?

(sorry if this seems garbled, 1.30am and I am fighting to stay awake lol)

Thats the thing... Money is in Developer's mind nowadays.  They need not to think like that.  They need to think "Fun" then money will come no problem.

The ONLY thing that game publishers understand is $$$.  You can tell them things all day until you are blue in the face, but if you withold your entertainment dollars from them, suddenly, they become attentive.

Keep in mind, though, that what you think is fun, and is not fun (directed content is what you're seeing as not fun) others think is very fun.

If the others outnumber you (think of the millions playing World of Warcraft) they set the agenda for the industry.

It sucks, but it's the way it works.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

We the players spoke -- with money, on WOW -- and developers did listen.

The niche players, spoke -- with text, in small numbers -- and (surprise!) developers didn't listen.

Developers may have failed to provide a WOW-quality experience with their attempted WOW clones, but that's not a fault of listening so much as a weakness of execution.
