Do you prefer to solo or group?

I'm not asking about the amount of content dedicated to which side, though I will be happy to do so in another poll. Just, which one do you prefer to do more?

This is probably sad to say, but i prefer solo.

Maybe because i dont want to depend on others and i dont want others depend on me. I love my freedom, and do not want to be unable to logout at any time, for example.

A mmorpg with solo/pseudo-group content could be nice.

For example, WAR had this kind of content with ... I dont recall how they called this feature... Public quests ?

There's a sticky thread for this already. Thread lock imminent.

I'm trying to get a current idea, not one thats been up for months. So they can close it if they want to, but the survey has a point.

I like fighting solo but trade with groups of peaple and chat with those:-)

If anything, theres a lot more soloers now than when the sticky thread went up. The genre's been heading in that direction for a long time now. Also, you can insert polls into existing threads.

The "group" option is too broad, including content for 2-3 ppl and 25 raids as well. You should be more specific, or the pool will be flawed. For instance: I voted group, because I prefer 2-3 ppl content, but I would choose solo over - let say-  more then 4 ppl.

I voted "group" as I don't really care for games that don't require strong groups to survive.  That's not to say that I don't want other things to do that I might do on my own like crafting or exploring.  But there is nothing quite like a well-functioning group that knows their roles and are good at them.  It's like poetry in motion.

Unfortuantely. that was the worst part of SWG.  Combat sucked (even pre-CU) and groups were nothing but free-for-alls.  Because death had no meaning.

Same with WoW from the short time I played.  There was no need to play "well" so no one did.

While I prefer to solo about 80% of the time, I do enjoy teaming for epic quests, raids and helping someone else out. I do not expect  group content to be made easier or the game dumbed down so I can solo. I soloed my ranger in DaoC to 50 at a time when dying meant losing most of the days progress.

I personaly perfer smaller teams to large ones and group when I feel social, its hanging out with the other players doing something we all enjoy thats fun, not what class they happen to be or what thier damn gear score is.

When I solo its because I want relief from the days stressors, work, family, etc and even then I will enteract with other players some, answering questions or talking to guildmates.

Thats why I made another thread for amount of solo vs group content.

Threads posted in the wrong forum. Moving to The Pub. Also, locking since the discussion is essentially a duplicate.

http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/263753/The-Group-Play-vs-Solo-Play-in-an-MMO-Thread.html We've centered discussion there to be easy to refer to and contribute to and not have things split across tons of threads.
