The folks at NCsoft and Aion would like everyone to know that there's some brand new rewards in place should you refer a friend to try life in Aion. There's also a mentoring program in place, so higher level players can help out their newbie friends.
Refer a friend to play Aion, and you could get free in-game items and free game time! Your friend will get a free game trial and in-game items that help level new characters. (Subject to the terms and conditions listed below.) You and your friend can use the Aion mentor system to help your friend to level up faster and easier by defeating difficult monsters together, and you can gain tokens to purchase high-level gear!

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

Good, they updated the refer-a-friend system, it allows a player to effectively let a friend start playing for cheaper if you consider the free month you're getting out of it.
Been playing again for a few weeks, enjoying my stay so far.
Looks cool, I never did get to into Aion, mainly cause of the open PvP no matter where you play.
I just read the mentor system though, and I love that! I wish more games had it. its one thing that allowed my gf and I to always game with one another.
I'd like to think that I'm at least partially responsible for that (the mentor system). When I start playing a game, if said game doesn't already have something to that effect, I'll bang on the devs and am relentess about them adding it. I will drive the devs nuts via feedback etc. about implementing some kind of system.
My first MMO for the most part was CoH which had a similar feature and I loved it. From that point on, it's one of the first things I'll look for in a new game and I'm often shocked when I find it missing. It seems like one of those 'duh' features that should be a no-brainer when it comes to important features that belong in an MMO. IMHO, in a genre that centers itself around social interaction, it's kind of foolish not to include the feature.
Just my 2 cents.
Aion looks great, but you have to play and grind for months only to end up being innefective next to anyone who has played months if not years more than you. Great game, but starting later than everyone else makes you a pvp gimp.
Hiiting the nail spot on Segreto, Aion is a masterpiece come 2.5.
I tought of comming back to, have 5 characters on 30+ for that armor you could get with some sort of quest
But with GW2 on the horizon and knowing how lon git would take to be competitive in Aion i wont resub.
Ashame tough as i now play on a private server sometimes wich also has 2.5 but it aint the real deal in terms of stats + class balance.
If it had a similar gear progresion as wow had i would resub yesterday, but knwoing NCsofts that would not happen anytime soon.
I wouldnt even refer an enemy.
Can I get invite please.

IMO if someone want to be competitive in pvp, it has nothing to do "when u start playing" but its about ur dailys free time to play it.
If u dont mind to do only pve and rush to 46 (wich is really fast atm) and then:
- You can do 3 dredgions per day (instance pve/pvp where u allways win points),
- 1 siege (if ur pc can handle) and
- 1 Esoterrace (instance pve after lvl 50 with only abyss points as a reward),
then u get a average pvp gear prety fast and start to have fun on open world pvp.
For ppl like me, cant do sieges, can only do 1 dredgion per day and 1 esoterrace it takes long time to gear up for pvp (can only play around 2 or 3 h a day, and only at night).
Im not a pro pvp player, just my opinion atm
