Worth a try? I heard it's decent.

Hi! The ratings are good, and everyone seems to think it's not horrible xD I was wondering if it's worth playing? Pros/Cons? Your opinion?

What's it like? Environment/gameplay? Grindy?

Thanks!

If you played WoW it will feel very familiar. It has nice graphics, interesting races and art direction, and the population is healthy. I played it for a few weeks. It was fun. Just not really my cup of tea.

Thanks! I think I might try it then :P

It was better, before the gizpat patch that had the same effect of Sony's NGE

It's a good game, easy on the starting players. Good graphics, decent lore, nice story, steampunk-fantasy setting (empire-league), reasonable quests. It may get a bit grindy around level 20, but it's nothing like your typical Korean grindfest. The Cash Shop will become more important as you near end game, but by then you should know whether you think it's worth sticking around.

You have nothing but time to lose by trying it, and it is worth trying. It's a change from most other games out there, Russian devs, and it shows. :)

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...

Tried it and loved it.  Then the FOD patch came along and hated it.

It was SWG all over again: top notch game almost completely ruined by a single patch.

Of course now that FOD has been removed, it is much better, but the forced PVP zone is what turned me off the game.  I have PVP, let alone forced PVP.

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

Well, if you really hate PvP, then I guess you should not be trying this game as you're probably going to be confronted with it at some point. There are ways to put it off for a considerable time. You can turn off your flag of war, but it will be turned on when you attack a member of the opposing faction which includes certain mobs. You'll have to avoid doing quests that involve enemy faction mobs if you really don't want any chance of another player attacking you. The warbanners that can allow a player within 3 levels of your level to attack you will drop from mobs though. Their position is however clearly marked on the map so there are ways to avoid them too.

The game has two opposing factions, no way around that fact. You want pure PvE and no PvP whatsoever, then you should probably be looking elsewhere.

The FoD patch wasn't even the worst patch, the one after that was the one that rocked this game. After that it's only been getting better, and quite a bit better at that. If they had made incense and charms free from the launch of Gipat, there wouldn't have been such a huge fallout. But alas, Gala-net risked the gamble and lost bigtime.

But if you have a serious problem with the principle of PvP, then I'm sorry to say I have no good news for you whatsoever. I hope you find other games out there more to your liking.

I am really enjoying this game. Rolled an Orc Pali about a month ago. Got him to level 26 and decided to support the game by spending a few dollars today. One of the things i really enjoy about this game is the stable economy. I thank Allods for the many enjoyable hours . I plan to continue to support the game.

I feel that I have tried everything, WoW has really lost its appeal to me, way to easy, nothing like it used to be, but it was easy to learn, and comfortable to play, controls, etc. I tried Aion, Conan, on and on. Then I started with the FTP games, and they all had one thing or another that turned me off from them, until Allods, I am really enjoying it, it is easy to get into, graphics are decent, storyline, quest are not too grindy, really nice game. It is easy to play, easy to find your way around, very well made. I started Invictus at the same time, loved the graphics, but not liking the closed all dungeon, same dungeon over and over, so Allods was a welcome suprise, wide open world to explore.

Man im really getting pissed with Gpotato  on how they handled the Fod give away. I didnt like how they nerfed the goal in in Isle of  Revalation and Kirah.  Your taking away the essence of our operation and making us go to the cash shop. I thought you bull headed bastards learned your lesson with Gipat. I guess not. and whats up with all the useless junk you put in your strongboxes.  Man you need to quit fawking with your player base or its tumble weeds and crickets.
