Need advice.....

Over a year ago I took my 80 Mage and went to the horde from the alliance. While there, I made a new alt strictly for banking and guild keeping. My mage is now 85 but I now want to return to the alliance since all my other alts are in alliance. I rather be a horde but I can no longer transfer items cross realm which I did with someone else being they left the game. And I need to give stuff to my other alts as well as get from them for crafting and other purposes.

The thing is, I can't faction change since I have close to 59k and you can only bring 20k.  I'm not giving gold away nor am I deleting it so what's my best option?

I thought of giving the rest of my gold to my level 2 then transferring it in the cross realm AH. But he's way too low to travel to Tanaris or Stranglethorn.

So what else can I do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

With that much gold just hire some escorts.  Or spend the few hours and level him up a little so he wont aggro everything then hire the escorts.

So far, this may be my only option.

I figured to level 10 then die my way to Tanaris or Booty Bay, whichever is closest from Durotar.

I remember running a level 4 to booty bay from Stormwind. I died so many times it's crazy. Mostly I traveled thru' the water but even then I kept getting killed but I did make it there.

    Thanks to all

In the time it took you to write this post you coulda ran there. The deaths don't matter and the time it takes to get to your body and run further isn't that bad. Stick to the roads and you will get there eventually. Or get some help from a friend to keep the couple of mobs that will aggro off you. When you make it to BB you are set. This is soo easy even my wife coulda figured it out and she sucks at games.

you can allways buy high value items from AH that sell well and resale once you have transferred.  Cost used to be 15% fee for using neutral AH so to be avoided.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

I'm thinking, since I can't transfer my Mage being I have a lot more gold then the 20k you can only bring with you, would it be against the rules to sell items on the cross realm AH for a lot more gold then their worth in order to bring down the amount of gold I currently have?

My Horde Mage can buy items my alliance Druid puts up for sale on the cross realm AH. But I'll sell them for high amounts, like 5 potions for 1000 gold. Until I can bring down my gold to 20k.

Any there any rules against this?

I really like the horde a lot better then the alliance but I have no choice but to switch back.

    Anyway,

    Thanks again for any help.

There's no such thing as a cross-realm AH, unless you're not changing realms and you're only changing factions.  If that's the case, the neutral AH is the way to go obviously.  Just post any item from a character on the faction you are switching to for 39k, and buy that item with a character who has your money on the faction you are leaving.

Blizzard really needs to change the gold limit though.  That was the WotlK standard and things have inflated like mad since then.
