Well, I was just looking over some videos in the PTR Notes sticky... I've probably seen everything from the Patch now.
This game is jaw-droppingly amazing looking. Nothing out there or in development can touch it for visuals. But in terms of content...who are they spending all this time developing these lovely zones for :S !?
Most players will spend at most a week in these zones. Why would they come back? Is there any PvP to be had in these zones?
My arguement is that they have spent probably a lot of time and effort in crafting such detailed zones, but whats the point if players aren't going to spend much time in them - that moves to my point:
PvP - why arent there more battlegrounds like these zones! Afaik, there is only 1 battleground that I've seen and OWPvP. But again with OWPvP - theres always going to be a zone people go to at endgame for this...its a shame all the others will only see players briefly levelling through them : /
Oh well, guess we'll see what happens when they release the siege patch.

You'd rather all except the endgame areas be boring and uninteresting to look at?
A beautiful landscape that's interesting and unique to the area you're in, probably with its own unique wildlife and culture doesn't seem like a failing to me, PvP or not.

Tera shapes nicely up to be the next Aion, im sure plenty of people will enjoy it for a while but eh..im skipping this one.
SW:Tor "soonTM" for aslong it might last am a bit in conflict on that one. GW2 on the off hours, TSW and archeage hopefully as long term game(s) when they arive.
Tera is a to me your 100 in a box type of mmo, and I realy dislike the races and classes. as said just a view of mine, there sure be lots of folks playing ..a month..or two..;)
There are currently 2 battlegrounds, a 5v5 deathmatch and a 10v10 control point map. They plan to add more battlegrounds later this year in a content patch. Just looking through the game files I can find 2 partially finished battlegrounds, though I don't know if they will be added or if more than just those will be made.
Why dont we just look at wow....they have how many zones that you dont go back to? ever? Or take my approach and dont even see half the zones and just dungeon grind. These zones are suppose to get you into the world your in and wanting to see more. Other than that, its filler i guess. Also there will be pvp in some zones for guild control, but no true talks about what itll be like.
Meh, I dunno. It jsut seems such a waste to have these zones so that people can just power level through them.
Ofcourse I want more effort spent on endgame, but I suppose a good solution would be to incorporate some of these zones into the endgame.
Sure they arent quite as big as in other MMOs, but I'm sure a lot of effort if not more has gone into developing these zones.
Thanks for the info on the PvP maps. Didn't know about the 5v5 one.
i was thinking the same thing like this happening. but i didn't worrie about it to much since im sure ill spend alot of my time on alt's also.
they also seemed to have solved this problem with there political system
be sure that with it people will go back to place's for some reason or anouther (may it be the skill npc's or the unique shops). And to make pvp'ers happy they can make a whole town pvp friendly.
Yes lots of effort into the zones but I'm not so sure about usage part http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V93n2aexCMM&feature=player_embedded
