ToR hate

Looks like the hate meter is in full swing now. Since the pre-order info is out and available, looks like the haters are ramping up their misinformed hate threads. I really have to LoL at those that say 'i am not playing the game and you shouldn't either'. Those people are really disgruntled and butthurt over nothing.

Boy, you said it. I've never seen the like before.

  • FrostWolfieFrostWolfie Member UncommonPosts: 54

Its quite interesting really and it does show how popular the game truly is. The more popular a game is, the more haters it spawn, or so it has seemed over the years atleast.

Still doesn't have as many haters as WOW... Or Farmville.

Admirable goals to have, bet Bioware would love to have that many haters.

I'm not so sure they don't, not in terms of pre-release haters. Farmville I literally know nothing about, but I don't think even WoW had so many haters before it was released.

And I thought RIFT had a lot of haters...

Still, some caution would be good, Bioware have yet to prove they have pulled this off. And there's always personal taste.

This happens everytime SWTOR announces something big. Haters come out of the woodwork to try and stamp down anyones enjoyment, telling people not to buy this game.

It had quite a few haters prerelease just on the way the game looked graphically.

I said this a while back; I guess it needs to be said again.

This site, in it's nature, is a very good barometer for how succesful a game will be.  The more the population of this site "Hate" on a game, the more successful it will be.

    So please, continue to hate.

This forum is very entertaining at times.

Some of it is truly lol..

I mean it was crazy before, but not at the level it has been since the pre-order info was leaked, and it seemed to have skyrocketed with pre-orders being made available. But the hate is only going to make the game grow. When you hate on something popular it gets even more popular. Just look at Kim K and Justin B these people get much hate but yet their fame and popularity gets even bigger

    Thats such crap.

two of the biggest 'hate' games I have ever seen on these forums prelaunch were Darkfall and Vanguard, both of which made what SW is getting seem like a handjob.

I didnt see them taking over the world.

SWtoR WILL be a success, how can they fail to make money with their rabid fanbase, but the hate/ success ration thing you are suggesting is silly.

We need more hate. *clears throat* 'Ahem'

Haters, Trolls, Flame War generals, where art thou?

Here is what many consider the 'holy grail' of MMO, come and strike your righteous fury!

For how DARE they release something that the 'masses' will enjoy and bring success to EA!

    How DARE THEY!

Here's a marketing guy explaining why 'haters' are marketer's best friend. :)

Most of it is cause they will fear what will happen to the game they are playing now.   Lot will hate cause of SWG closing and others will hate it if the game becomes big and draws others away from games that are struggling.  Kind of the same thing happen with other titles in the past 10 years or so.

Just the way things are now

They're equally as funny as the fanboy's making alternate threads to explain how "great" or "good" the game is.

    Mmkay.

    ITT: Irritating pretentious fanboys.

I barely even took note of the hate in those games you just listed as they where released. However, almost every time i log in here i see a Swtor "fail" column or a swtor "win" coloumn filled with such hate that only World of warcraft can match. So yes, this game will problably be quite a sucess.

Haters can hate the game all they want, those that love it will continue to do so even as the flames engulfs their positive views of the said game.

Honestly i expected every one of these when SW:TOR got it's pre-order, TOR boards would light up like crazy it's why i'm not really going to be posting much in the next couple of days, wait till everyone calms down and we can get back to our normal crazy levels rather then all this.

Naturally i'll be pre-ordering but i won't be going crazy like some people on both sides of the fence i'm sure are :P

I love games, I so want to play SW:TOR but some of the extent of some people is kinda crazy in my eyes.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Haters will hate, although it is completely ridiculous. Don't like it? Don't play it. Easy as that.

As for CE, it doesn't matter what the price tag is. If someone evaluates gains and deems that it is worth it he will buy it. Got cash? Love SW universe? Like the content of CE? Go ahead and buy it.

Don't have cash or thinking the contents aren't worth it? Don't buy it. Really easy.

CE does not equal crazy, but if you want to be crazy be my guest. I'll even buy some paint for you to rub all over yourself if you want. I'll buy black and red so you can be like Darth Maul

I have a fem-Shepard.... ehh... Female Trooper to roll here!

Hate is actually good for any game really. Marketers love haters, trolls etc because haters are more determined to spread that they 'hate' a game than someone who 'love' a game.

Which in turn means more free marketing to said product.

Game hate is generally a product of  rival fanbois each thinking their game will be or is superior..

We each have different likes and needs from our games and fanbois seem to believe they can influence others into liking their game or hating some other game...

In the end its been my experience that the most avid fanbois have the tendency to become their games biggest haters when the game doesnt live up to their own hype...

    Playing GW2..

Can we stop with the endless TOR hate posts please. Some people have very good reason to think this game will be shite.

    Each to their own.
