unpacking statements from GWWiki

im a bit confused by the following statements i found in the GWWiki. if someone could unpack them for me that would be great. by unpack, i mean explain some of the assumptions made in the statements, assumptions that are obvious for you a long time player, but a bit obscure for a newbie like myself.

for instance what is the # sign for here? and frankly the entire statement "obtain the master's reward in all # missions" i find a bit obscure.

"You will earn the title of Protector of <Cantha or Elona> once you obtain the master's reward in all # missions on the continent of <Cantha or Elona>"

then there's this one, what does completing to the highest level mean? does each quest have a level gradation that increases, so you have to go back every 5 levels or something and do them again?

"Master's reward is obtained by completing missions to the highest level in either Factions or Nightfall."

thanks for the help!

I'm not sure what the # means. BUT when you complete some of the missions, mostly new city story missions, they have a different icon on the map, you will see that symbol come up and 0, 1 or 2 swords, spears or whatever go through it. When you replay them you will be told objectives and some will be marked 'bonus' or something.

    for example on this map

you can see that some of the city hubs have swords in them. they look a little different in different campaigns, but that's the drift.

    In addition to Astoria's post:

In prophercies: To get the protector title you must complete all 25 cooperative missions - the main objectives and bonus objective

In factions: you must complete all 13 cooperative missions within time limit for master reward.

In nightfall: you must complete all cooperative missions within time limit and/or do all bonus objectives.

what's confusing me i spose is the 'replay them' part. do i need to finish the campaign to go back and do them again? or just revisit the quest givers?

see this is where i feel so dumb...and lost, when you say 'cooperative missions', is that me and my heros? or me and other players? or....?

It's both! That's the beauty of Guild Wars. You don't HAVE to do missions with other players if you don't want to.

The # I'm guessing is referring to the number of missions on each continent, for example 13 in cantha. The 'cooperative' missions are just all the main story missions that you enter in towns.

    gotcha!

i will admit that when i first tried GW1 way back in the day the instancing and henchmen put me off from the game. but coming back to it now after a few years i'm really enjoying it and wondering why they haven't found a way to it in GW2.
