....and you wonder why lots of people dislike TOR on this site. Since with poor journalism like this seems to be a doing a good job misinforming people and giving them the wrong idea. Then people get butt hurt when they find out different from Bioware.

Seriously. Go to the following link. Start the video at 29:48. Do you think they're serious when they say 500 planets in 2025?

Yeah! The d00d was serious! I take everyone and everything serious. People shouldn't be joking about a game because too many lives are at stake. We've been waiting patiently for open beta and early access to arrive. The least they could do is be serious about it. They're taking our money (subscription) from day one right? Seriously....I mean seriously image

Just kidding...I know they were not serious. lol

I am glad they are planning ahead but the 2025/500 was for PR only. I am sure they are already hard at work on the next 10-20 planets to explore though and that is a good thing.

It's good planning ahead and all, and the game looks polished..... But the game, well....... sucks..... There is nothing new in the game from older MMO's.... It's the standard quest and grind, and then grind raids........ Sound familiar to some games ??

They're lucky if the game lasts for 3 years....... With other much better MMO's coming up too, witch actually have some new stuff in it...... The only thing people like about this game, is that it's polished and that it is Star Wars.....

Before you flame me, please go ahead and state the things that are good about this game...... And don't tell me stuff that other MMO's already have....... So you really have to think...

Well if you feel that way, why even bother paying any attention to any forum regarding SWToR? YOu obviously have your mind made up and BioWare cannot change it. There is NO possible way for you to enjoy it right? At least you will save your subscription fee and you won't get suckered in. I'm such a sucker...lol   Gonna ride the story wave baby! Graphics alone just doesn't cut it for me. I think endgame has a lot to offer after watching the Comic Con video.

How do you know if the game is polished or sucks when it hasn't even officially launched yet? If you are in closed beta, well, it's not polished and it's what it is....BETA.  image

But the biggest attraction to SW:TOR that no other MMO has is a moral choice system that actually matters. I like to see what other people would do given a hard choice. You are not simply given a quest where your only choice is to do or not do the quest, probably not even given that choice if you wish to progress with your character.

If you're looking for just a game. Look else where.

I consider SW:TOR to be an experience.

I'm not a troll.... I just don't see the good thing about this mmo..... I shouldn't have said it as I did, I'm sorry for that, I just got angry....... IMO it's not good....

I my self, like more innovative games.... And there are not many of those really :( But like Archeage, Prime and some other...... But again this is IMO......

I might change my mind later on..... I probably will test the game..... At least I like SWTOR more than Guild Wars 2......

You haven't been paying much attention to this game have you if you say the quest are standard.

I don't care about innovation I care about fun.

You will, Time changes nothing in your mind, only the world around you changes.

Um WRONG. But it's okay, enjoy being young.

How is he wrong? The "gamer" demographic gets older all the time it turns out. That means that people who started out playing Super Nintendo are still gaming to this day. How do I know? I'm ~30 and I still play games. Just because 10 year old me loved to play games doesn't mean ~30 year old me doesn't.

ok we are in 2011 they are planning upto 2025. now i dont know about you guys but i know at the maximum so far a games average age is roughly 6 years.

sorry to say this but swtor will be dead and burried way way way before 2025. and you wont see even close to 100 worlds. i reckon they will get out around 50.

but then the game will probably be dead before they reach 50.

The HYPE machine is clearing in overdrive here. This game is gonna totally suck or be great.

2025 is a long way away though. I wish they would focus on the content that will be released this year.

This is starting to sound like DCUO...all these promises but little details about Day One.

  • residentxresidentx Member UncommonPosts: 123

All I'm focus on right now the pre-game session I  have a key to. If the game is great then I'll stay if not I'll cancel and go to another game. I will say this...if they can deliver...I hope the veteran rewards are good.

  • NoobkilarNoobkilar Member Posts: 175

I watched the interview, I swear he said 18 + minors....But in all reality 500 by 2025 is really a joke we all know SWTOR will not be around then hell we'll have bigger and badder stuff to do in the game industry. I can see it lasting for 6-8 years and I'd be happy!

  • VonatarVonatar Member UncommonPosts: 723

You guys are taking the comment about 500 worlds in 2025 far too seriously. To my mind it's either a joke designed to grab attention or a misstatement by someone very excited about their product and its future.

No developer can seriously expect their game to have that much content (it's not even necessary to have as much as 500 worlds) or that the game will last for 14 years when technology and the industry moves so fast.

  • haratuharatu Member UncommonPosts: 409

Tabula Rasa could have had hundreds of worlds too... oh wait, they canned that one, ironically the month before they introduced a new world.

I hope this doesn't go the same way.

8 actually... if your counting the other side, then they split into 2 classes each for a total of 16 though the story won't be much different so thats purely gameplay differences.

But i don't count the other side as u can not acces them without twinking or rerolling.

Same with the specializations, u can't switch to the other option so you have 4 Classes

in total if you are Sith or Scum aligned.

An old thread for sure, but now that you all know how thinly spread the population is even on the busiest servers can you imagine them adding another 500 planets? image

  • karmathkarmath Member UncommonPosts: 904

Id be surprised if SWTOR wasnt down to 1-2 servers or switched off this side of 3 years. However, if they can actually turn the game into something other than a clone with nice cutscenes, good luck to them I guess.
