Saw it the other day and didn't really think much of it. If you've seen the animated stuff out there about the Cap'n you'll be treated to a live action verson of the same.
I think in the end this movie was nothing more than a money grab and just filler till the actual Avengers movie drops. I'm kinda thinking that they wanted to make sure that when The Avengers comes out there won't be a single person in the audience wondering "who's that guy?" because by that time I'm sure they'll have all the characters covered with their own movie.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

I watched it and thought it was pretty good myself.
I liked it as well.
yeah... I guess I was expecting more humor given who they cast as the leading role...

While I thought it was a good movie overall, I have this to say: Too much back story, not enough action.
In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.
I liked it
well im gonna wait for DVD copy to watch it, some says it's kinda boring. . . .
I enjoyed the back story and non-combat scenes much more than the fighting. Honestly, Captain America is kind of a lame superhero in the combat department anyway. However his story, especially with the WW2 background, is one of the better ones.
It was so much fun!
I agree with Laserwolf here. The story was very good to setup Captain America as the First Avenger, but the fight scenes were were lacking that wow factor. It was just 'throw shield' 'punch' 'punch'. And at one part it was just a series of 10 sec clips of war which I thought was really bad.
I don't like it. it sucks and boring. i guess marvel entertainment wanted to earn more money that's why all thier comics will be also released as movies to.
I have watch it twice already and it look great. Yeah we know that the Avengers movie is coming next year, what do we want to expect of captain america he's just an Icon and a strategiest in comics he doesn't do much. He's just an ordinary person who was tested for an experiment. I like most of the marvel movies, except for the misleading spiderman3.
Never was a huge Captain America fan, but since 2008, starting with Iron Man leading up to Cap's movie, the quality of the movies have gotten better and better - with an exception of Thor - and Captain America is the pinnacle of Marvel Studios' movies' quality. The whole time, you're immersed in the 1940's. I only say "1940's" because I'm trying to use as little spoilers as possible. But the movie is a blend of a WWII movie, a Superhero movie and a Sci-fi movie. It explains the origin of Captain America and really brings you into his shoes and makes the viewers understand his views. The movie is loaded with action, supporting cast - Nick Fury's father, Tony Stark's father Howard, Bucky and even Stan Lee which is a fun little thing to throw in - and interesting, intense story. The movie definitely made you realize that Captain America IS a hero and the world would be different without him. Bottom line, see the movie. It will make you laugh, it will make you want to punch Nazis and it might even bring about a tear.
Captain America is great popcorn movie! do not go to the theater with your expectations high.Marvel comics take a few liberties with the comic book adaption and it works during Steve Rogers 1940's transformation and the explanation of the origin of the Red Skull and his relationship with Bucky,as well as the costume changes. The acting was great by all! The direction by Joe Johnston proves to me that this was the right guy for the job,he gave the movie an epic look and kept the action sequences tight and to the point. The battles scenes with a mixture of world war 2 and sci fi was perfect for this sort of film.So far the best superhero movie this year, keep up the good work marvel films!
I agree with you gebon524,
I agree with you gebon524. Captain america was really annoying movie. that will hypnotized the viewers mind
I liked it but I also went into it expecting a standard superhero flick. Seems people expect Oscar winning performances out of these movies which will never happen. The whole superhero movie genre falls into the 'B' movie catagory. If you go in understanding that little fact the movies can be a lot more enjoyable.

Go Captain America... like the movie, it reminds me of myself when im not eating too much. A muscle bound hero witha great face and good personality.
I was lucky enough to see this at an early screening, and it did not disappoint. One of the summers better comic book movies (better then Green Lantern, and Thor). The special effects are amazing and look natural in the movie. The acting is pretty good, and the writing is actually quite good. The score is one of the highlights of the movie. Overall a great movie, and it gets you excited for The Avenger's. By the way, stay after the credits, there should be a scene. 9/10
Captain America is a fictional character, a superhero that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (March 1941), from Marvel Comics' 1940s predecessor, Timely Comics, and was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Over the years, an estimated 210 million copies of "Captain America" comic books have been sold in a total of 75 countries.
For nearly all of the character's publication history, Captain America was the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man who was enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum in order to aid the United States war effort. Captain America wears a costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with an indestructible shield that can be thrown as a weapon.
Overall, I really liked the live action movie. Although the last part was quite sad. But I still love it. It's cool!
Marvel comes through again with Captain America! Chris Evans stars as Steve Rogers/Cap and does a fine job, Tommy Lee Jones and Hugo Weaving, who plays the villain Red Skull, both steal the show. Story was solid, and the actions scenes were good. My main complaint is some cheesy scenes and one liners that took away some of the momentum the film had, but besides that very good movie! Plus, the scene after the credits is just incredible!
I liked the movie overall but there was something missing. As others have pointed out the back story was quite extensive but once that was established it almost felt like the end was 'tacked on' and rushed to lead up to the Avengers.
Still worth a watch.

Good, not great. Loved the look of the movie more than the story. And if his shield is made of "vibranium," which absorbs all vibrations, why does his shield bounce and boomerang? Did we run out of adamantium? If you're going to make stuff up, at least make stuff up that makes sense.
For real I don't watch marvel movie, because it sucks. if ever marvel will be doing series maybe i will kick them out of my country
Captain America is the 1ST Avenger, As seen in the comics and now in the film. I think its a big hit to movie go'ers because the story is quite action, adventure and a little comedy. The costume of Capt. America was great because it really looks like an oldies costume that easily illustrates that he is the 1st Avenger or Hero ever was created. I liked what they have done to the film showing all avengers, so that when the movie of the Avergers will be posted in theaters, everyone knows who the heroes are that they would not think that they are left alone.
