Alright guys come on I played for a month solid with no issues and just because they have had problems recently all the sudden everyone has to complain. Not only did they give 2 days of free playing time but they are working hard to fix it I can guarentee it.
First off its not like they enjoy torturing everyone with these issues there is alot of stuff they cannot discuss and we dont know about. I say give it a week and everything will be back to normal with absolutly no problems. Some of you guys act like they are picking on you and trying to make your lives worse. I suggest u go out for a bit and breathe the air leave ur character in an inn to get rested exp. If they keep having issues Blizzard will give us more free time because they are good to their customers.
This game has still had a better release than most MMOs I played. There are close to no bugs in game.
I think they have dont an amazing job so far and the new battlegrounds they are coming out with are even better then I thought they would be. Im sticking by WoW and give it my full support. If u wanna go back to another game go ahead less lag for us.

What are the other MMOs that you've played that had worse releases than WoW? There aren't many, if any.
You're right that there isn't alot of bugs(at least compared to other MMOs), but I've never experienced server problems like this in an MMO.
It's 2 months after release and they're still having serious problems... I was fine with the first week, hell even the first month... but when will it stop?

Games with MUCH worse releases:
Anarchy Online(lag was HORRIBLE you couldnt do jack)
Everquest (back when it came out it was BAD)
Shadowbane(SB.exe errors and quickly died)
Planetside(no players, continent locks, lag, etc)
Star Wars Galaxies(bugs, lots of content not in, proffessions not working, etc)
Lineage II(TONS and TONS of macro bots that completly ruined the game and the fact that it took days to level and was extremly boring)
etc etc etc
Every MMO has been hell to start out for me and ive played 75% of them when they were released. WoW has had very very little problems these recent issues will pass and it will go back to its perfection again.
Oh and I dont get what u mean by u were ok with the first month because I didnt find one bug or have any lag the first month of playing this game minus the first few days which had lag.
I completely agree, WoW has been one of the smoothest running games for me, i guess everyone has problems, and PC problems on their side that they are gonna blame on the game, but i've played mmo's for a loooooong time and this one is the smoothest running one ever, and im actually haveing as much fun as i did with my 1st one!! yay!!! no more spending money!! hehe

I'll back up jimothypetro here, and agree that WoW has been the worse release in regard to the server lag.
I bet you never played half of those games at release, anyway.
Lineage 2 - Because it took forver to level it was a bad release? Because there were bots?
PS - So there were no players and continent locks? lol
Everquest - The first few days were bad, but these kind of problems weren't happening after 2 months of release.
SWG, AO, SB - Not in regards to server lag it wasn't worse than WoW's.
That is a brilliant statement.
HA!
Everquest did have a week or so of nasty days when it was released (Povar baby ya!)
IT WAS RELEASED IN 1999 ..fookin tard
Make excuses all ya want, Blizzard is screwin the pooch.
if you don't whine, then Blizzard won't relize there is a problem, and then they won't fix it (if they even fix it if they know)
In the French Revoltuion (1st thing to come to mind, feel free to fill in French with any other nation's revolution), things didn't get better if they just stopped whining, no, no, they still starved, but if they complained, then they were listened to, and then other people listened, and then they killed the king and made everything better for everyone. No one got anywhere in the world by sitting down and shutting up when there are obvious problems. If this was so, alot of people would still be saying HEIL HITLER!
Everquest was pretty bad in the beginning. AO was HORRIDLY lagged in the beginning, and WoW is a TON better than it was. Either you didn't play AO upon release and for the first month or so (maybe it was longer.. long time ago to remember) or you were smoking crack at the time to think that WoW has worse lag. In AO you couldn't even move in the cities, and it was damn tough to do anything outside the cities. People with monster rigs could turn down all video settings, turn off sound, run at low resolution and stare down at the ground, THEN they could take a step or two every 20 seconds or so. And I don't feel I'm exagerating here. Even after they fixed all that and the memory leaks there would be rampant zone crashes, people would zone into empty zones, the whompas (teleporters) would stop functioning for long periods at a time. It took quite a long time for that game to turn around and become stable.
WoW has been one of the smoothest releases to date for all the major MMORPGs, but that just means it's had less problems than many others, not that it is problem free. Now of course for people on the maxed out population servers they're going to experience more lag, crashes and have the dreaded queue lines. I agree that sucks, and Blizzard obviously underestimated how many people each server could handle. On the lower population servers things are pretty smooth, just the occasional visit from lag, and that's usually due to them trying different tweaks to make the other servers run smooth I'm sure. I'm just glad that my guild decided to leave a high population server and moved to a low population after a week or so of the queue lines. No more queue lines, no more lag. Yay!
Obviously Blizzard knows there is a problem, and they are doing what they can to fix it. Only a moron would think they're all sitting in their offices playing indoor nerf golf and laughing at their customers all day.
Maybe they should've thought about this when they had 500,000 signups for just US open beta? Blizzard knew that there was gonna be a ton of players months before release. Oh well, the games not fun IMO anyways.
Seriously i dont see what people are whining about. The first 2 days of WoW had lag when you looted or traded items (big deal) and that was it. LAG FREE for almost 2 months and we started having these issues which I actually still havent noticed.
I really think this game is perfect. It has GOOD pvp and people actually play it. You can solo, team, or quest all the way to 60. In pvp I notice greatly when someone is a skilled player, I can face the same person with same equipment and one will be easily defeated while the other can kick my ass.
Battlegrounds just looks amazing to.
It is starting to get sour and many people are complaining:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-general&T=975227&P=1
Tell me... does that seem right?
It has been over 2 months and Blizzard is getting in VERY hot water with these server issues. If they had fixed them before our free trial is up, I won't be complaining. Now, it seems the monthly fee is going down the drain.
Check the Realm page. Every single day they are doing maintenance to one of the many servers they have. To my understanding, they are overloaded with these server problems. And having too many servers, causes TOO MANY PROBLEMS.
Not to long ago, they started to do weekly scheduled maintenance for all servers. *hint* *hint*
Good thing I quit before everything goes up in smoke. I guess I should of wait until the population dies down.
Hope they can get enough help, because they need it.
I haven't played many that have had a better launch than WoW. The only MMO I played that had a better launch was CoH.
The worst ever by far was Anarchy Online. Their customer service was horrendous, they didn't give a rip about their customers. They blatantly lied about the issues they were having.
HOWEVER... that truly depends on the server you play on. I can almost always log in to my server when I want to. I rarely get kicked off, or lag out. And the server rarely crashes.
The problem is that people are trapped with characters that they have spent a TON of time on. They are trapped on the high pop servers. You'll notice that most of the servers listed are low population. The people experiencing issues are on the high pop servers. If and when Blizzard lets characters migrate, I think things will steady out a bit.
Simple, it's a chance for people to flame others and feel justified about it.

Your guessing...
Lineage 2 - Because it took forver to level it was a bad release? Because there were bots?
Yes, his statement had nothing to do with Server issues and lag, but....Taking forever to level while doing nothing but Grinding.. is bad..... Bots... are bad...Its universal that everyone knows that, save 1....
PS - So there were no players and continent locks? lol
No players in an MMO? I'd say thats a bad thing... I wouldnt want to play.... Also... Content Lacks perhaps is what he meant? Use your imagination instead of being a jackass
Everquest - The first few days were bad, but these kind of problems weren't happening after 2 months of release.
SWG, AO, SB - Not in regards to server lag it wasn't worse than WoW's.
Those games dont have nearly as much players as WoW does.. or the amount of servers... Thank you
That is a brilliant statement.

I must confess that I dont/havent played WoW but while I would agree that AO & SB dont have as many players/servers (AO certainly didn't) I'd be very suprised if SWG didnt have more players at launch (and/or servers) or was very close - do you have any numbers to back that up?
The only real problem with SWG's launch was the registration servers on the first day, the actual game servers were fine
hell EQ had worst release than WOW. If i remembered correctly EQ shut down for a couple days after 1 month of release because of some issues i cant remember what. and they gave everyone 2 weeks free play after that.
DOAC had the same problem but they just never cared for the subscribers.
You just got Bootyknocked
Macro bots count as launch problems? Neat trick there. PlanetSide no players? Content not in doesn't count as lunch problems, sorry, SWG doesn't count on that. Dont' confuse a game not being complete enough in comparison to how stable it can be run or played. Your list is rather opinionated and skewed.
I will give ya AO however, I was there, it was rather miserable. I dunno about worse though.
As for your original post, thats rather immature. Just because your on a clean server or don't have problems now everyone else is whiners? This thread is about as whiney as everyone else complaining about it. In all honesty, to me the amount of whining has been minimal and most the players that do complain are even doing so with a non-inflammatory attitude.

2 can play this game
Completely irrelevant to the discussion, but regardless, It was designed to be a grind.
Now your guessing, what he typed didnt even come close to content lacks. Lack of players is not a sign of a bad launch do to hardware or software. The only one looking like a jackass is you.
As you said, they have more servers, the populations per server are limited (or so blizzard found out quickly), so I barely see your point on this. SWG had a rather large launch however, WoW's being bigger is pure speculation.

I think WoW's lag and server problems are because of all the new players.
WoW sold over like 3 million copies just during the holidays(or something like that)...go to www.worldofwarcraft.com it should say it there. If that happened to EQ 2 or someother MMO then it would be laggy as hell especially for EQ 2 because of it's graphics!!!
AO will keep the crown of bad launches until someone releases a game without an EXE file.
And the fact that WoW has more players then AO or SWG or any other is NO excuse, in fact it is the contrary cause with that amount of subscribers there is no risk in dishing out X amount of million dollars on server park upgrade.
Wich leads me to believe the error is software not hardware. Wich means the fault is at Bliz and no excuse can be made.
Good save by stopping sales for a little while though, this is the reason Bliz is the most respected company in this biz.
