Pocket Legends is the biggest iPhone MMO. I don't really think it's that great of a game but you can try it out. Then there's Order and Chaos which is the epitome of a WoW clone, except it's mobile and has a really cheap sub fee. I've only recently started playing it, but I believe that Zenonia 3 is a single player anime style RPG with PvP arenas. There are also altered reality games like Parallel Kingdom and Shadow Cities where you take over irl territory (via google maps). And of course there's also the Mafia Wars clone (e.g. Kingdoms Live) which is text based and is mostly attacking people with your army and stuff. As far as shooting games go I'm partial to Eliminate. (All the games I've listed except for Order and Chaos are f2p.)
I had a list knocking around somewhere, I'll try to dig up. The main ones (few):
1/ Pocket Legends
Dungeon-crawler, f2p, instances x5 players, simple but good fun, high performance, plays over any iOS/Android device, high quality support from the devs
2/ Order & Chaos
V high quality wow-clone, persistent world servers, pvp areas, etc, p2p monthly, higher end iOS devices required.
3/ Highland Warrior
More like daoc artwork to compare.
4/ Shadow Cities
location based mmo. reports indicate cities are better locations for players, some good reports some not so good
5/ Star Legends
In App-Approval Store, sci-fi, f2p, (same makers as PL), looks more promising, 80,000 beta testers on Android already released.
2d browser/iOS sandbox space mmo. Slow but sandbox a bit like Elite or EvE mobile (at a stretch!). Best for long term game imo. F2P with a sub option: Check website:
Outer Empires is a space based massively multi-player online game created for both the iPhone/iPod Touch and desktop browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari).
Every player will be able to create an online persona in a persistent galaxy; from that point on they can choose from a number of different careers to progress through the game. The game is set up in a sandbox style, to allow players to choose how their character develops.
Players will have a variety of options, including:
Set up colonies (Mining, Food Production, Manufacture, Development/Research)
Run/join factions (guilds) within the game.
Take control of and fight for systems (either themselves or as part of a faction).
Buy/Mod/Build/Sell ships using a number of variable items that can be created from the manufacture plants players set up.
Trade with other players and the system.
Mission Statement
To allow players to carry out a diverse range of activities in a massive multi-player on-line environment, all based within a universe spanning twenty thousand star systems.
