TOR is a bad WoW clone. Maybe they sell a few million copies. However ToR is not going to keep non SW fans playing more than 60 days. I played beta and cancled my pre order the game sucks. DC universe is better lol not even kidding about that. And i dont like DC universe

    10,000,000 - 3,000,000 = 7,000,000

I think WoW will be okay with 7,000,000 subs.

These 2 can share subs all they want. They are both first gen MMOs (which isn't saying much for TOR).

GW2 will come out and kill em both.

This is a forumn about SWTOR. Lets focus on the game in hand. Nothing else really matters.

If ever a horse was dead, not just a little dead, but Paris Hilton's celeberity status dead, it is this sad, sad horse.

Who cares if WoW gets killed or not? Who cares what game does it? Is there a prize or have you contacted a bookie to lay a bet on your guess? If not then let this rest with the other 12 million "Will SWTOR kill WoW" threads or, if thats not to your taste, there is a pile of 14 millions "Will <Insert Game> kill WoW" threads.

If ToR has 3 million subbers after the first month or two, it will put a HUGE hole in WoW.  Not only that, but having that number, you will see more friends of those playing joining the game.

"But Swanea! Wait!  11 million - 3 million = You're dumb!".  Well, that's besides the fact.

If WoW loses more then half it's EU/US PAYING 15 dollars a month people, it will take a hugeeeeeeee hit.  All the asian accounts pay totally differently.  So some might play for 10 hours a month and pay what? 60 cents?  So 60 hours is 6.00.  Maybe it's 8 cents an hour.

So they can play for more then many people play in a month of wow, and still pay less.  They need a LOT of hours to catch up to 15 bucks a month.  I'm sure most don't.  But if they play for an hour a month, boom.  Active sub!

Now, I'm not trying to rip on WoW, or China, or the payment.  I'm just showing that losing the 15 bucks a month that people give even when they quit or can't play times 3 million people out of the what, 4.5/5million total EU/US subs?  That's a lot.  Only 45 mil a month or 540 mil a year. Chump change.

I'm not saying TOR will do this at all.  I'm just pointing out basic math that if WoW loses that, it won't kill it (because of china) but it will be without any limbs or head in the US/EU.

There are so many ridiculous assumptions in this post I don't even know where to start. Seriously people, TOR is not going to "kill" WoW. Just play the damn game if you want to.

That's my attitude. I could care less about what happens to World of Warcraft. Is the game good enough to keep me my subscription? That's all I care about.

No... 3-6 million players and still rising after a year would be a good start tho... Boxsales are useless unless they turn in to long-term playing accounts. And that is the real crux

This have been a good conversation
