As some of you may know, Sega/Sonic Team is working on and soon will be releasing Phantasy Star Online 2 for Windows PC.
As some of the older mmogamers may know, "Phantasy Star Online" was an online rpg (One of the first 3D rpg online games) originally released for the Sega Dreamcast:
This quite successful game was later ported and expanded upon for both Nintendo Gamecube and Xbox and has since then seen many spinoffs such as Phantasy Star Universe for WINDOWS PC, Playstation 2 and Xbox360 and several portable spinoffs such as Phantasy Star 0 for the nintendo DS and Phantasy Star Portable for the Sony PSP:
However, all those spinoffs, did not really stay true to the spirit of the original Phantasy Star Online, and thus, Sega/Sonic Team has decided to make a new game, THE game of the Phantasy Star saga, that will go back to the roots and make them 10 times better than they ever were.
Boasting an incredibly in-deep character customization ( which was always one of the trademarks of the series ) and a fun, intense and completely randomized action rpg combat, PSO2 is gonna become a decent choice for any player that loves rpgs but hates the old, boring clicking for no reason, and also dislikes your dime a dozen "action free to plays" that saturate the market with their endless grind/cash shop greed and balance.
I could spend hours talking about the game, but i thought it´s much better that you hear it from one of the main developers himself, in the english subbed media briefing for Phantasy Star Online 2:
http://bumped.org/psublog/phantasy-star-online-2-media-briefing-fansubbed/
In this media briefing are discussed many things such as the character creation ( You can see how deep it can go) the battle system, the randomly generated fields and dungeons (everytime you enter a dungeon it´s completely diff on both layout and monsters that you will encounter ) the random events (in dungeons and fields, random, customized events are constantly happening and interrupting your original mission, think of it as a smaller version of Gw2 dynamic events) and several more gameplay related features.
If you just wanna see people smashing stuff and the general feel of the game, and don´t care much about it´s features as of now, then you can check this trailer :
