I'm not certain, but I think they are expanding crafting to be up to 150 level in all 3 crafting areas. Divine, Arcane, and elemental. I'm not sure what it is at the moment though.
my guess would be that its currently limited to 100 and come updated 11 its going to go to 150 max level skill. All the recipes between 101 to 150 will be new.

The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.
I think crafting is decent in DDO. I like that you can basically design your own items to fulfill a need. The interface is a bit clunky and slow though. I don´t think this updates is an ´improvement´ as much as it is just an extension from lvl 100 to lvl 150. Not much is gettin changed below lvl 100.
I never liked DDO crafting. I think DDO crafting could have been good if the game was still hard and took real strategy. So little in the game requires special weapons and the ones that do are basically so well known everyone has the right weapons.
I like crafting that lets you build some of if not the best equipment in the game. The kind of crafting that makes crafters worth playing and a needed part of the in game economy. DDO will never be that.
You are probably right about endgame... but if you are a newer players and leveling, crafting is actually very awesome.
For instance, earlier tonight I was looking at the quest rewards of stuff I will be doing in the next month or two.. lvl 8-12 range Most of it is obsolete I have already crafted much better stuff. Fireguard robe of invulnerability, clickie that inreases spell damage by 60%, plus2 in every stat and plus3 in 3 or 4 different skills. This is all sub lvl 10 stuff. They only item up to lvl 12 that I even really want is the exp trinket.
my melee characters all had shocking x of lesser ooze bane, reptilian bane, goblinoid bane, human bane etc by the time they were lvl 4. Which makes early levels very easy when you also have invulnerability and elem resists all over your gear.
Thats really funny, I dont even remember crafting being in DDO. Played a long time ago though, when it was first released.
I seriously dont like the game, and I have been an avid D&D player (PnP) since Red Box basic. The dungeons were great, but I just hated not having an "overland" to explore. Could have made a great sandbox game.
That being said, the combat is/was quite good and strategic... I just dont remember anything like crafting or other "fluff"- Maybe I will have to try to remember my account info and take it for a spin, see whats new.
My sentiments as well. DDO has crafting? I don't recall ever harvesting materials or making anything.
Time to dig out my client.
Your post describes what is to me DDOs biggest problems. They continue to make great overpowered gear for a game that has become too easy.
The thing is that there are limits on how much stuff you can use based on your level. Early levels are easy if you go normal in dungeons because they are meant to be easy. Mobs are hitting you for 1 point of dmg, even the starting gear should prevail.
The game is challenging no matter what gear you have. People still die to traps, and end bosses have taken out parties I was in before.

A lot of the game's difficulty comes in elite/epic runs of instances/raids.
It isn´t craffting like UO or WOW where you gather materials. If you play WOW, it is actually more much like just énchanting´. Basically you take your worthless magic items, break them down into essences, and then use the essences to build new ´enchants´that you add onto blank items. Almost every prefix and sufix is available, including all the base stats, skills, heavy fort, saves, spell boosts, banes etc etc.
I don´t know anything past lvl 10, but up until lvl 10, the difficulty feels really good. Normal mode is pretty easy, but there are still plenty of quests that are either difficult to do without reading wikis, or just flat out difficult regardless. Trying to solo hard modes at level is somewhat challenging if you have only done the dungeon once before on normal. I think the real problem is with elite mode, it is just too easy if you have TR´d people in your group. I have yet to do a single elite group that was even remotely a challenge. Elites are definitely a challenge if you try to solo them at full exp though, which is what I do. The only times I group for elites is if I can´t solo it at full exp... and that has only been a handful of quests.
I don´t think the ´difficulty´or normal and hard modes is the problem as much as it is your knowledge of those quests. If you are fully prepared for every ambush and know where every trap is, sure it seems easy..
I think you need to be least post graduate major in missile science to crafting in DDO. I have never seen so poor crafting like this before. Bashing / shield attacking ....
DDO in general is complicated, but crafting isn´t that difficult. You deconstruct your magic loot, then you create a prefix and a suffix shard, then you add the shard onto a blank item. Very similar to enchanting in WOW
I dont know what is Prefix on a weapon and Sufix too.
I descronstructed a LV16 weapon the other day and then the weapon become LV1.
My LV16 was +5 enhancement but then the craftable weapon has +0 enhancement.
It is very difficult for a beginner to learn how to craft in DDO.
when deconstructing an item, you have only 4 possible choices. You can remove all enchantments, remove the + off armour and weapons, remove the suffix or prefix off the item giving you raw materials. Removing the + off the item makes a spirit like a +5 spirit, which you can use to make a +5 enchantment shard with. Obviously you don't want to take useful and nice items and create blanks out of them. Vendor trash is usually the best thing to deconstruct. There is also an added wrinkle, in that you can make bound or unbound shards. bound shards are bound to account when you make them, and when you use them, are later bound to character unless the blank item is bound to account also, then it stays bound to account. Basically you need to make unbound items which are harder to make to sell on AUCTION HOUSE. You cannot give bound shards to other players.
This doesn't seem like rocket science. It seems rather straight forward and simplistic.

I can see that....I can't figure out how you going to craft after all features being removed.
I can do +5 enhancement but the problem is the weapon is LV1.
Secondly, how to craft higher damage since the desconstruction make the item became level 1.
I have seen some people crafting 4-5 features. The game wont allow me to craft more than +5 enhancement.
After you make an item able to receive shards for furthur increase you need to add a shard of potential level by level .You cannot jump from level 2 to 4 you need to go to 3 then only 4. The shard of potential adds the craftable value.
Also be careful when you add suffixes and prefixes you can make an item that will quickly outlevel you. So be careful you cannot add an enhancement of +3 then a shatter suffix with a fiery prefix you may end up with a level 7 item when you were trying for a level 5 item. There is a formula for the level but I seem to always get it slightly wrong nad have constructed myself out of my level and had to start over and those damn greater essences are hard to come by.
