The official forums are pretty dead, but I'm not sure if that means the players don't exist or if they just don't use the forums...
So, anyone care to update on the current state of the game? From what I've heard, Tale 5 is coming to a close pretty soon. Any ideas when Tale 6 will start? Is it worth doing a trial now or should I wait until it does?

From what I was reading yesterday, the population is around 500-600 active subs. It is also the end of the tale, so I'd think personally it wouldn't be worth starting. There is no promise that I could see on Tale 6, and from the few posts I did find, it seems the developer is tired of working on the game. He apparently doesn't log in anymore, which is a really bad sign for the game if you ask me. I personally love this game, but it is far to empty for me to consider subbing to it. Also, if the Dev has lost interest, it would seem to me that it would only be a matter of time before it got shut down. I'd say try the trial and a least see the game. It is quite different from the usual mmo's we got around here.
I played ATitD for a while, and it was interestingly different. Would be sad if it was about to dissappear.
From what I gathered by chatting to people ingame, the number of players was slowly declining with each new Telling. The gameplay is great, but the graphics are seriously dated now.
Just before I quit, Teppy (the developer) was inviting people to try out his new venture, which was some kind of online gambling casino using BitCoins as currency. Perhaps he's investing all his energy in that project now ?
It's possible. The game itself does seem pretty sparse as far as players go. I was playing a trial of it, and I maybe saw 2-3 people in all my time playing. The free TP's you get as a newbie were all 0/0/0 meaning no one was in the region. In Egypt chat there was a few people, and one was really nice and helped me get started, but I hadn't seen him since. After about 14 or so hours, I gave up, due to how empty it felt. So many buildings were made, most of them abandoned. Almost seemed more of a graveyard.
The population always drops off through the duration of a Telling, so if the current Tale is nearing it's end, that would explain why it's a relative ghost town atm.
People realise that they are not going to achieve all their goals before the end of the current Tale, so I guess many just stop playing and wait for the new cycle to start.
Yea. Just sucks for newcomers as no one is around and it looks like a ghost town. Of what I got to do in my 14 hours, it was quite fun. Made a compound, and was learning about different concepts of buildings and such, but there seems to be a huge hurdle to get over, and without people it would almost seem impossible. But I guess that is just my opinion. I do really like the game though.
