Well by reading alot of peoples reactions and replies on the official forums is like this.
Trolls - those that arent going to play the game but have fun joining in the fight to anoy the players that love the original armor sets.
Other race rollers - Those that will play Terra but have no plans to roll the Elin race yet go to the Elin thread section to join in the fun for poking the people that dislike the hacked messy armor sets since it doesnt afect them might as well go into a holy crusade.
Those that are planning in playing Elin's - Will mostly either Hook off this game, or use a Mod to get back the original intented content armor sets, a very small minority will keep playing with the ugly painted sets.
Either way Tera will lose subscribers in this decision - and the game hasnt even come out yet.
Good PR move? time will tell, even if the armor sets where kept in there original looks, people wouldnt have given two shits abouth it after a month.

My initial guess was they were a Pixie or a dryad race. The problem with Elin is we still hold to a notion all video games are geared toward teen boys with a 24/ 7 uncontrolled erection. Nobody can comprehend the possibility that someone might want to play a dryad like character in a video game. They must be a diddler and getting some great jolly out of thier Avatar.
