currently there is no release date. they have said they want to see how their big beta weekends they are doing this month go , if there are no major problems due to the influx of alot of new players, then they will be ready to give a ship date
as for what has people hyped, well i can only speak for myself. personally im excite to see a mmo where the story matters alot. i am excite to group up with other people to see how their decisions can effect my story and how i can effect theirs. and of course its star wars.

Old news is old.
This game will be released in November. I'd happily bet £100 with anyone who disagrees. That way, I get the game, and £100 in November! WOOHOO!

Just some common sense and wild assumptions, that's all.
That announcement took place before Beta was even properly off the ground iirc.
At the recent Gamescon convention, they said 'Very soon, we promise' / 'but it won't be tomorrow'. Beta is now pretty much in full flow, with many, many new testers being added every weekday. The game is WAY more polished now than it was earlier this year. Then there's the fact that most AAA+ games are in Open Beta for somewhere between 2-6 weeks.
I hear this game's not having an open beta; so consider the masses of people being invited to beta over the next couple of weeks the equivalent to open beta.
Also, from a commercial perspective, November makes perfect sense.

I would think barely 4 months ago they would have plans to be in weekend beta now, but anyway I hope you are right about November, actually they said january was a remote possibility.

The unannounced release date kind of bugs me, it could be Oct, it could be Feb 2012 for all we know.
I think the shutting down of SWG is the clue when the game will be released, I bet the shut down happens in the same week of the release as something tells me Lucas doesn't want them to overlap.
I hope you are correct.
Other then some possible DA2 DLC, there wont be any new BW content until ME3 launches in March.
It does help though that Arkham City and Skyrim should keep folks busy.
Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

funny, i came from gamestop and they show it for Nov. 22nd. not on website yet but i pray Bio-ware does not do this.
My guess is 11/25/2011. Black Friday.
