Wrack - going back to oldschool shooting stuff, the way it should be!

The story behind Wrack

World peace at last.

In the year 2037, scientists at Prometheus Technologies, Inc. developed a device allowing for the creation of matter out of pure energy. This Hyperion Generator could turn energy into any form of matter, including food, clean water, and building materials.

Because anyone could cheaply generate anything of necessity, international power struggles came to an end, poverty was eradicated, and peace ensued.

But all good things must come to an end.

Thirteen years later, beings from the star system Arcturus have been at war with another alien civilization for decades. Having depleted nearly all of their home planet's resources, they send out reconnaissance ships to find ways to replenish their war machine. One of those ships discovers a device that could provide the Arcturans with an endless supply of resources... the Hyperion Generator!

Now, with the Hyperion Generator in their sights as the means to their salvation, they prepare to do what they do best... strike! Pacified and defenseless, Earth is now helpless against such an assault. Standing to be almost certainly wiped out after losing the generator, Earth is doomed.

... or is it?

You are Kain Sager. A vigilante who's stayed prepared for such a situation, you've not gone soft in these prosperous times. Taking matters into your own hands, you now stand as Earth's last hope. Good luck, Kain! The fate of mankind rests on your shoulders.

Hello folks,

Recently, I found this little gem in progress, called Wrack. We all remember the glory days of FPS games, like Wolfenstein, Doom, Unreal and Quake (+ all the other awesome FPS games). I've missed games like those, and I know some (many) of you did as well.

Multiplayer will be in the game when enough funds are being raised, similar to Torchlight. So I'd say, check this game out and give them some support and spread out the word.

Facebook: click

QuakeCon interview: click

For all of you who can't get enough out of just playing the game, there will be a free game editor with the game IF you pre order from the website. The game itself will cost $10 when available on Steam.

I'm interested in the focus on modding. One of the things the killed the mod scene, especially TCs, was the level of complexity the modding programs have reached. For vet modders, the transition was gradual, but for people new to the scene it just became too daunting to try.   I hope the collaboration they are looking to do with modders and level designers pays off. Could prove very interesting.

But...if the Hyperion Generator could turn energy into matter, then why couldn't they manufacture tanks, jets, missiles, warheads...hell, even spaceships. They have the greatest weapon in the universe (light to solid matter is very much Green Lantern anyways)!

They could make a giant boxing glove just crush the alien armada! Or...or...a titanic chainsaw! Or make them watch Rebecca Black YouTube songs with a huge projector!

They're starting with modding tutorial videos, and the first video came online yesterday. It's all about modding, so I think you would be interested.
