i havent played this game since the day of release ...

is it worth coming back to?

second question is it as much of a time sink as ffxi?

third question is it still free?

Kind of off topic but:

 

• 
  In my opinion yes, it has been since 1.18 and continues to get much better with every patch.
• 
  No it is not near the time sink that FFXI was.
• 
  It is still free at the moment until they are finished with the changes (likely sometime next year)
• 
  No lag has been vastly improved since launch, and I rarely lag when playing (however your personal mileage may vary, I know one person in our linkshell who is currently struggling with lag at the moment, but it seems to be an issue with their connection as she did not always have this problem).

 

I guess I don't really care how much this thread now gets derailed with this topic since I'll continue to update the first post with new videos.

im actually off to get surgery atm but upon return i believe i may reinstall and give it another shot today...  also i was wondering how the crafting was... i really enjoyed fishing in the last one

I don't know did you try fishing before?  Gathering hasn't been changed yet (it is going to be though before the year is out), but I actually kind of liked the fishing system in the game at launch.
