Making its debut at this year's BlizzCon, 'Black Soulstone' is the latest cinematic trailer for Blizzard's upcoming hack-and-slash action RPG, Diablo III.
In addition to the new trailer, Blizzard also announced that World of Warcraft subscribers who commit to an annual subscription will receive Diablo III free of charge.
Diablo III is set to release sometime in early 2012.

I tried to hold the line, I really did. Stupid always on internet. Stupid shiny CE with a Diablo skull. They broke me. I pre-ordered the CE this morning on Amazon.

Amazing, I will be buying for sure.

i may not like blizzard a huge amount for the rmah, but no one can say that they don't do an awesome cinematic.

You fell for the cinematics trap or just the box art?
Just when you posted yourself in the picture the past weeks by frequent cases of open mindedness, clever observations and a sense of humor ... now this, WhiteLantern ...

Unimpressed.
Looks amazing from a tech POV, but it's also somehow souless. Replace the recognizable names and it could pass for any generic fantasy game.
Anyone else see a resemblance to the bad guy from Monster Inc.?
tré chic
Looks like a Starcraft 2 cutscene instead of a Diablo 3 cutscene.
Great cinematic you can tell where blizzard put their money...still a cinematic won't make me want to buy their over advertised and over hyped games. Great cinematic though.
Good looking cinematic, but I liked the first one better...it had a more Diabloisc feel, and it gave me a little chill, this was just ok. I couldn't help but think of Mannoroth when I saw Azmodan...

I heard they are already hard at work on the first expansion which is tentatively titled: Shaq-Fu Panda The Wrath of Pokemon
Seriously though... I hope they keep to the Diablo roots and don't start Pandariaing everything.

The Game itself dosen't really excite me , going from the Gameplay videos I have seen it just looks like a HD version of Diablo 2 , there doesn't seem to be any inovation , maybe I am just not seeing it .
But as for there ability to do Cutscenes there 2nd to none ..
Textures, lighting and all the moving flesh was great, storyboard not so much.
"Demon lord transports beautiful but nosy woman into his realm and explains her his devious plans"
Because that's what demons and evil masterminds do: explain their evil plans and share their knowledge with protagonists.
You'd reckon they could all have become great teachers if circumstances had just been a little different.

blizzard should make a new department dedicated to making video series of their games.
My god Bilzzard is amazing at these. I hate her hair though.
I have a hard time supporting companies with such strict DRM, so I'll probably wait to see if the game is actually Diablo before making a decision.
Anyone know if the game is randomly generated? I'd hate to see things like voiceovers take away from great mechanics, especially if those mechanics allow for an open (as opposed to linear) game.
Sarcasm is not a crime!
Of course they do. That's evil bad guy 101, you always tell the good guys your plan...
P.S. Great trailer BTW...

Animation wise good. Story not so much.
Back in the day I adored cinematics , they frequently convinced me to buy some game or play it.
Nowadays well don't care that much.
If game has good cinematic it is a plus.
Still even best cinematic won't save game itself.
Diablo 3 does not seem like my game. Many reasons.
And that's why evil masterminds never succeed!
Not impressed whatsoever. Diablo 1 was the best, Diablo 2 was an excellent sequel. Diablo 3 is a SHAM from what i've seen SO FAR.
I won't touch Diablo III due to the DRM (which of course pirates will crack day 1, they ALWAYS do) until I see more proof it's not just a pretty box with a grab-for-cash inside it.

I've been a big fan of the Diablo series. I played both of 'em. I also played D2 more than most.
I'm not a fan of this cgi. I found it to be underwhelming. The story seems pretty lame.
The CGI should've been of Tyriel and his deceit or perhaps something to the survival of diablo. How can you have a game called Diablo without... diablo. This new boss looks like that fat guy who helped Obi-Wan locate Jango Fett.
I am a sucker here I come. Buying for sure. It is just 60 or so what the heck.
Yeah, the BEST bit of the Diablo cinematic legacy are still the cut scense from D2. Even when I recently played it again for shits and giggles they still are really awesome. The narration in that broken voice and all the emotion and dread are somehow much more compelling than high-fly graphics.

I agree.
I still pre-ordered D3, though. Not because of it's terrible cgi, but because I've been waiting a D3 since 2002.
I'm just glad there is going to be a popular multiplayer online game that isn't a FPS or moron-playable (ie hotbars with wait and watch 1.5 sec GCD). Hack n' Slash forever!
