EA Beats Projections And Analyst Estimates With Sports-Heavy Q2

The company is expecting its next fiscal quarter -- which includes high profile releases Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic -- to see adjusted revenues of $1.55 to $1.65 billion.

I would expect anyone working for EA to be pretty sure they are going to have a pretty snazzy Christmas, unlike those poor schlubs at NCsoft and CCP.

Good to see some companies will be taking care of their employees this year. Gotta give EA credit where credit is due.

Hey i am really happy for any employee/s who benefit from whatever their boss can do for them but i can tell you EA is not one of those employers.

EA was SUED by it's employees a number of years ago for making them work overtime/long hours with no SIMPLE pay increase. You work over time itis automatic time and a half extra long hours are in some cases illegal depending on how many without a break and again warrant more money.EA not only ripped them off of all their over time money but tried to work the books to claim them as salary employees.

Without any  doubt EA lost the lawsuite and had to pay back a large sum. However i am also pretty darn sure that sum was a settlement sum not the actual amount they ripped off their employees by.I would also garner a bet that they have worked with their lawyers to make sure they can't be sued again and that the employees are probably being mistreated as usual.

A few people that posted on the net that worked there said it was becuase EA hires a lot of naive young employees that would do anything to keep their job [a lot of ass kissing] so EA preys on the vulnerable.

There is also something else that should be noted...

Developers can manipulate the figures and move them around from quarter to quarter, this is actually done for various reasons and gives no real value to any quarterly rating.I know Blizzard does the same thing, moves numbers around to different quarters, the actual reason why each time is anyone's guess, but by doing that tells me you are up to no good, trying to cheat someone somewhere.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Meanwhile, back in 2011...seven years later....

it's nice to see that EA won't be laying off any employees this Christmas like other gaming companies are doing.

Hopefully SWTOR will do gangbusters (as those EA employees are hoping it will) and they'll be able to create more jobs, American and overseas.

Gotta give credit where credit is due.
