skyrim- Does Steam Auto-Patch?

ZairuZairu Member Posts: 469

Skyrim has a 1.1 patch out, and i have no clue if i'm updated or not.

Does Steam auto-patch?

if so, does it wait until i launch said game, or does it just do it auto, as long as comp/internet are on?

if it auto-patches, where can i look at Steam to see my curent version - 1.0 - 1.1, and so forth.

also. where can i find the patchnotes?

sorry for this thread, but i have looked through Steam already, and can't find what i'm looking for. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. i also was at a loss looking for info on the official TES website.

my roomate is enjoying it on xbox, but i play PC, so no real opinion.

looks good on his TV though, and he has no key-mapping issues like PC does.

i just can't figure out if i'm patched up to 1.1 or not....

Steam Normally auto patches.... unless you have it set not to.

Check your game version when you hit esc it says it in the bottom left corner like 1.1.x or whatever

Currently playing : World of Tanks, LoL
Waiting for: The game of my dreams
    Played: Everything
Favorites being Eve, UO and SWG Pre-CU

Right click on the game in the library and select properties then the updates tab.  This will tell you if you are automatically updating or not.

im enjoying it big time on my xbox 360, but its still way visually inferior that the pc version. it could be my tv resolution?  32" HDtv with crappy 720p. but when im in a snowy mountain i can clearly see the things that i should not be seeing, like in old games taht you can see the textures on the ground forming very  little squares all over the ground... but again it could be my tv resolution, Though now i want the PC version :(  lol i hope the PC version supports 360 controller

    There is no patch yet.

And the one you discribe is a replacement of texture if you dont like spiders lol.

Version 1.1 now replaces the spider loading screen!

This aint a Patch from bethesda btw its a update/downgrade in my book:P,... from nexus site.

Normally in steam if you not changed anything yourself it will auto update so don't worry.

As others have said, Steam does auto-patch, unless you set it not to.  Te default setting is to auto-patch every game in your library.

Steam autopatches even if you set it not to.
