I'm currently unemployed and I play less than 20 hours a week on average. Granted, that may change drastically once SWTOR releases, but even then, I no longer have the drive to play for hours at a time. I prefer to play in small doses and even then, very casually.
Legitimately unemployed, so that would be.. upwards of 80 or more hours per week? Entirely dependent on what is out and whether or not it is worth playing, which for most of the year isn't much.
These developer people really need to pick some time other than just the holiday season to make good stuff, to help make life more bearable for those of us who can't find work.

I'm really sorry, I know how you feel, I got laid off the 1st week of Dec last year. I moved to Seattle last summer to take a position only to find out 3mons in they had no room for me. I had to find a job or get laid off, the lay off beat me.
I'm one of the 40h+ work crowd, and I do still manage to play quite a bit.
I was made redundant twice in 14 months, so my sympathies are with those who have been hit the same way. It's not easy, and games are a good escape from it.
I probably played games for 40+ hours a week when I was out of work. I had one MMO sub as it was the best value for money entertainment I could find. MMO sub and the local library. Kept me going.
Now, I play before work, maybe a bit when I come home too, and on my days off. Easily adds up to 20+ hours.
Games and books have always been my way to unwind, and at my age, that's unlikely to change!

-20 hours/week University?
2 PT jobs and grad school for >40 hours a week.
Far less than 20 hours a week on games.
All men think they're fascinating. In my case, it's justified
I wish I can squeeze everything in, but only gave up to 10 possible answers for the poll.
I would say depending on your school schedule full time or part time it can still apply to:
+40hr Work w/Family -20hr a week Gamer or PT Work -20hr a week Gamer
I am recently retired (gotta love hazardous duty early retirement) and I am free to MMO all I want...after the honey do list is caught up for the day.
I'm down to 40hrs per week now in the slow season. We are all gamers in this house, each with a nice rig, and we play games together a lot.
Plus of course we all have our own "game" that we each play. My son is a TF2 nut, my wife is a L4D junkie, and I play MMOS and SPRPGs primarily.
Lucky you!
I dated a gamer girl once it was nice, but so damn hard to find.

Good luck though.

I thought there would be more than this!
