Allright I know these type of questions are the typical recurring questions right before launch.
But if it was mentioned on this forum, it's not in the first 4 pages, that's how far I went.
Is the BETA client launch-ready?
I've found sources where they claim that the BETA needs to be uninstalled if it dates from before the last BETA event. And other sources says that it has been confirmed through Twitter that the BETA client can be used and patched up for launch.
So what is it? The silence on this subject is frighting, I must be the only one who doesn't know...

If you played in the beta on 11-25 or after then you can just patch.
If you had the client for the wekkend of the 25th beta, you should be good. I had the client from the 25th, but I redownload it, just in case. Irrational I know, but its eased my concerrns.

There is no silence. It has repeatedly been stated that which beta client can be patched to the Early Access/launch version.
Here's one quote from twitter:
yea if u played on the thanksgiving beta u just patch. If u didnt play that weekend or after u need to uninstall and install new client
I just patched mine. just waiting to see when i get to play now.
Instead of crawling on Twitter, you could search on the official site and find this:
By last weekend I guess they mean the one right after the mass invite event?
In that case that very last one (smaller) one is meant. I still remember an announcement that the build from the 25th on (as it has been stated here already) can be patched to the proper version.
Thanks, it's clear.
Forum down, but not the website...
Last weekend was the 4th, but someone provided you a quote so there shouldn't be any confusion on anyone's part.

It's still best remove and redownload, there are files left in the beta that might cause some unforseen problems, not only that wasted harddrive space, my beta client had like 37 gigs of crap, I removed beta and installed live and now i'm showing 18.4 gigs.
Took me about 4 hours tops to redownload and install using a 6mb per sec internet but the swtor launcher caps download speeds at 2 mb per sec so everyone should be able to download and install within the same time frame as me.
I also deleted and reinstalled. Didnt want to take the chance.
Yeah I just removed the BETA and downloading again. 10 GB's to go.
It's not that bad
What Warjin said.
If you did a clean install after 11/25, you won't need to uninstall.
If you installed prior to the 25th, but played after, the client will have been updated so that it works, but it will be bloated. It would be best to ininstall and do a clean install, not only to free up space, but to reduce the chance of future problems.
If you played in earlier beta, but did not play from 11/25 on, you definitely need to uninstall.
My client folder from beta was around 36 GB, after uninstalling and downloading the new client, it is only 18.4 GB. That is a lot of extra garbage that doesn't need to be there.
I played the 11/11 and the 11/25 beta weekends and the beta client was really bloated and huge.
I uninstalled it, downloaded fresh and got an 18.5 GB client. That's much leaner.

Doing the same right now. It's nice to have some space, even when you already have plenty to begin with.
My minimalist attitude doesn't just refelct with my UI preference, it seems.
I did not participate in any beta events, however I did download the client when I was told about headstart from the link provided to me on the email. The problem is that my install folder is 30.1 ... not 18....
