Could anyone please take the time to tell me what they improved in Skyrim over Oblivion that makes it a better game? Thanks for any replies.

    Three things come to mind:

    1. Way better overall fantasy enviornment

    2. Way better world and dungeon design

    3. dragons, while numerous, are awsome

It brought back the Morrowind feel of the game, because Oblivion felt like you were inside a giant fishbowl.

First game ever (for me) where streamlining actually was a good thing (it made roleplaying a character instead of a stat-dependent toon actually possible).

It incorporated ideas of modders from both Morrowind and Oblivion, which makes the game experience better in Skyrim.

World looks more realistic and beautiful. Dungeons are alot better. Oblivion dungeons 6/10- Skyrim dungeons 10/10.

Dragons is very well done animations fighting everything but there way to easy.

Game is HUGE STEP DOWNWARDS TOWARDS simpleton thats sad:(.

UI sucks and not much progress AT ALL, its if its stand still 5 years and AI plus scrypting and spoken voices  its very limited.

World screams exploring full of secrets and many quests.

Way to many bugs and crash to desktop.

Still game is more enjoyable then oblivion i still hate steam but i can live with that for now.

Master lvl in some areas way to easy, dragons are JOKE:(

After Morrowind Oblivion was dumb down version but Skyrim is even MORE a DUMB down version of Oblivion with almost no progress after 6 years.

I can fairly judge game have spent 240hours ingame now.

Why i play so much while im not content is becouse there is not much else to play in a open world to explore thats why.

Over all 8/10 PC Version, but game is enjoyable becouse of gameworld so nice exploring and freedom you have and awesome dungeons.

    I liked Oblivion better...

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.

I don't mind the streamlining of the skillpoints at all.  All the amazing options for gameplay are still there, and that is what is important.

As for difficulty of dragons or other monsters...  Mods guys...  Install mods.  I am playing with a 3x harder dragon mod and now I find myself running in fear from dragons on a regular basis :-)

if u exclude the fact birthsigns are fast lvling mods in skyrim the absent of stats, Skyrim has better gameplay .Combat dungeon crawling, exploration, animations, list goes on.

I found though the scenario/main story more intriguing ,more addictive and intresting in Oblivion than in Skyrim. At least so far (havn't evolved much the Skyrim main story).Fighting demonic forces that plot against humanity is usally more catchy than fighting Imperials.
