Hello, we have a serious issue right now. As you can see in my case history, I chatted with someone on 12/8/11 and specifically asked if the charge wouldn't come out of my account until 12/20.  I was told it would not.  And I confirmed it again with that same person who said I would not be charged until the 20th. Then the very next day I canceled my pre-order. (case #xxxxxxxx) Yet today I was charged 79.49, this needs fixed. now.

EA's costumer service should be well known by now to be a big joke. So many problems with Origins aswell but people still keep buying games from them, was so much complaining about this when BF3 launched, will be fun to see how much whining there will be now with SWTOR launching.

Not sure if this billing problems is related to Origins or not, this seems to happen with alot of games all the time. But EAs costumer support is still bogus and very bad compared to alot of other companies.

Moral of the story, don't pre-order something if you don't really intend to play it at launch.

Hopefully they'll get you straighened out eventually, but I understand why they really don't have a lot of incentive to provide assistance.

Excuse me sir, but I had every intention to play it at launch.. until I beta tested it.  So quite frankly your 'understanding' is ridiculous.  I am a customer.  And if you think that SW:TOR is the only EA game i've ever bought than thats your issue.

They dont need a incentive, its their job.  Do you need incentive to do your job?  Sad.

I don't think pre-orders should be refundable, but I don't think they should be the full cost of the game either. Something like $20 for the pre-order, and it comes with a $20 coupon for the game purchase.

Beta's are not free trials, and when you sign on the dotted line with a pre-order you're committing to purchase the game.  I don't know where this "take-back" mentality came from.  Heck I played Xyson and let them keep the purchase price even though they never delivered anything resembling a functional game.

BTW, their job is help their customers, when you asked for your money back, you removed yourself from that list and fell to the bottom of people they really care about helping.

Well I dont feel like talking to another brick wall tonight.  So regardless of your 'opinion' the fact remains i was allowed to cancel the order. I am a customer of EA, despite what your warped definition of one is, and am owed a refund of a purchase that WASNT supposed to be charged in the first place.

Say what you will but Kyleran is correct: You pre-ordered you commited to buying the game. Claiming buyers remorse after the beta doesn't cut it .  Caveat emptor my friend...

Heck, the same thing happened to me with Xsyon and I never demanded a refund since I did pre-order. My mistake for swallowing the hype! (Plus I felt bad and figured they needed the $ but that is another story)

Sounds like one of those people who pre ordered for the early access with no intent on buying game.  i have no sympathy for them if they do that. its a big reasonw why bioware and other companiosn are forced to put in no grace periods

Cause of people who do that , they dont want players who didnt buy the game playing it for a week or more after launch.

Hahahahaha....Xyson...man i forgot all about that game, if it makes you feel any better i bought DCUO/LOTRO/Global Agenda and Heroes of newerth which are all F2P nowimage

  • youngkgyoungkg Member UncommonPosts: 357

Im betting your problem will be resolved after launch...EA probably has a policy to not look into refunds untill you have an opportunity to make the product unrefundable...ie saying "Screw it...not gettin my money back, may as well play it".

And the fact you dished out extra cash on the special edition tells me you intended to purchase it otherwise the reg edition woulda been a safer early access option.
